View Full Version : PTR: IC 5-man gear requirement?

Hey you 5-boxers who have hit the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man! I was wondering, what is the minimum gear level to get through this? I haven't been playing much and let my HToC grind drop off, but am thinking of stomping back into it to try and make sure I can run the new stuff when it comes. Would help if I knew the target I had to shoot for. :)

Currently I'm as well-geared as I can be from non-ToC heroics (il 200?). My tank has everything applicable from heroic ToC plus the crafted bracers (Swordshatter?), and the locks and healer have a couple pieces of HToC gear each.

Niley cleared it first try, but that was with a 50k buffed tank and ToC 10&25 geared shaman. Im guessing it will have a learning curve like ToC Heroic. Probably most people here will wipe 10 or so times before getting it down.

First two bosses in Pit of Saron (second wing) are not bad at all for conquest badge geared group. If you can clear HToC and all the Heroics you should be fine in the new stuff. The last boss in PoS is tough due to aoe damage and gimmicks.... also the 5 pack pulls on the way up the ramp to the last boss are a bit tough since they are so spread out you can't grab agro fast asn easy like most fights in game.

I have been meaning to go back and check out the PTR with the updates... so I might do so in the next day or two. I think one of the other 5 man wings (forge of souls) opened up a while back.

i have to say that last boss in PoS will be tough for undergeared group, boss has 1 mil hp, and his mount has 500k(you have to burn through about 50% of that to access the boss) quite a bit of damage going around too.
The first 5 man is about same difficulty as ToC, but only 2 bosses.

When i cleared them both, only my tank had some toc gear, Ive got a lot more gear on my team since then :P

I'll try to go back and make some videos next mon or tue when work slows down.
