Pally hotstring = T > totems
Shaman hotstring= 3>totems

So when I am on my pally when I press T It sends the hotstring Totems then when the shaman gets the hotstring totems it presses the key #3 to cast his totems.

However this is not working. What am I doing wrong?

make sure the string is the same case for both.. and no spaces

also, make sure to load the keymaps on each clone
(2 different keymaps, right?)

yup did that and still no change.

when I press T on the pally with the updated keymap loaded the character attempts to attack a NPC. Where as when I hit the F key it makes all the toons follow the main. But I think thats because the key is set to F on all the toons and not a change of letters to numbers. I.E F=f on all toons where as T=totems on pally and 3=totems on shamans. so not sure whats up with it :{

I am at work so I cant Jump in and chat :{

The error is happening on the same system.

I run 2 pcs.

PC 1= pally/shaman
pc 2= 3 shamans

MY keybinds are set up as such.

Pally Q = s.attack
shaman 1=s.attack Note that this setup works.

Pally F=totems
Shaman 3=totems Note that this one does not work.

I dun know whats the dilly :{

since you're having an issue... it would seem something didn't work either in setting up the keymap or assigning the proper keymap to the appropriate account.

make sure you use no caps or spaces when defining the keymap.

make sure the hotstring is the EXACT same on all the keymaps that expect to deal with it

make sure to load the keymap to each clone, not just one

I double checked that before I posted.

Anyway you can test it on 2 accounts the way I have it set up to see if it works on your side.

from what I can see here its set exactly like my Q key for dps spells but when I hit T nothing happens on my 2nd shaman :{

Same thing happens when I assign CTRL+1 to hit the button number 9 to cast earthshock.

It does nothing :{.

Pally CTRL+1 = shock
shaman 9 = shock

when I am on my pally and I hit ctrl+1 it shows up as LeftCTRL+1 and when I hit it nothing happens :{ makes me want to cry.

it would be good to walk through a setup and see what the situation is. let's try to meet up on vent and work through it. i should be back tonight and will log in to vent to chat

very strange. I figured out what it was.

When I have my white list set up the letter T was not on there. So when I set up my hotstring it some how does not allow it to work as its not on the white list.

I am not sure why this works this way. since I am not passing the key T to the other keymap im just stating that T= s.totem and on the other system s.totem = 3. The letter T is never passed to the other system. kinda lame that I have to add the letter T to the white list to get it to work.

tha would be the letter getting chopped BEFORE it gets translated into a hotstring.

the intention of the white-list is... "i only want keys to go out that are in this list"

Anyway to fix that? So I dont have to have it setup that way?

I think this might be why my hotstrings do not work. I have been using the whitelist to pass keys. I thought it was easier to use the whitelist to pass what I wanted rather than to tell it what not to pass as there are a million combinations of what I might not want to pass.

Does this mean that any key not on my whitelist will not be passed on to be read by a hotstring? Most of the alphabet is not on my whitelist. I could set it up to Pass Hotstrings only but than I would have to set up keymapping for ever single spell I want to cast.

If this indeed is all true than I would love to see a feature that allowed you to seperate DNP/whitelisting from hotstrings. That way I can still block the Letter B from passing and opening my Bag on all toons and still be able to pass a hotstring named Baby.

I'd love to have the option for hotstrings to ignore the whitelist as well.

Keys that are used for hotstrings don't get passed to your slaves by default, surely? They get translated into a string which the slaves use to generate a new keystroke and not passed as a "raw" key. All you should need to do is add your hotstring keys to the whitelist and forget about them.

I'm a user of a blacklist (I blacklist all the alphanumerics, punctuation, smiley brackets + slash and enter keys in both open and shifted modes) this still allows me to use ctrl/alt anything while never having to mute just to talk. For logging in or multichar emotes I just set a DNP override to "scroll lock".

I'm new to Keyclone, so it's possible I've either mis-understood or made an error.
