Leveling Builds

What builds did you level with on your prot pally and elemental shammy? Did you start immediately with 1h weapon and a shield at lv 10 and put points into Protection (redoubt) or go with Retrobution until lv 20?

What about with shammy?

Sorry, in my above post I was tired and didn't really read the question. You will probably not be doing instances with just the 2, so plan around killing normal mobs as efficiently as possible.

I would go Prot Paladin, with the shaman laying Windfury Totem, Fire Nova Totems and Chain Lightning to wipe up groups of mobs while the Paladin keeps himself full of HP (Seal of Light + Reckoning + Windfury).

With this setup, you will stick around the area affected by the Shaman's totems for longer periods of time, utilizing them to their potential, rather then killing a single mob then moving to another area, out of the totem's Area of Effect.

Go prot on the pali imo, you're playing a duo so you can't solo instances, but you can grab a pug as a tank, or as a healer with the right gear, your shami can tag along as dps and off-healing and as elemental will be plenty of dps while questing.

On the Shami always consider mana efficiency, you can knock the mobs out quickly so the only thing slowing you down will be mana. Shamis really benefit from crit and mana regen with the right talent build :)
