Hello, thanks to some great advice i received on this forum i managed to get my Guild to lvl 30 on Monday night. It was even faster than i thought it would be and surprisingly easy to do.

Last night (Tuesday) i got home and with my hour of eq2 time i bought a tier 1 guild in freeport and a bunch of Amenities etc.

I got the Druid portal, 6 guards (for fun), a trade broker, the gambling gobbie and that relic which lets you get a gate back to the guild hall. Tonight i think i will purchase a spire to get to the over realm.

It's been a lot of fun and i think the developers did a great job with the guild halls. I went for tours in tier 2 &3 guild halls and i am amazed at how some of them look and the features contained within. no wonder freeport seems so dead as a city, i guess everyone is in their guild halls.

One thing i was disappointed in was that status reduction items have no relevance inside guild halls... it's all about appearance haha. Since my whole team is Iksar i decided to decorate it with Sebilisian statues and so on - plus a bunch of flaming tapestries which look like cloak of flames (because they look cool).

Anyone else on here have Guild halls for themselves? If you do then what amenities did you buy and why? What lvl is your guild hall? I have been contemplating continuing to lvl the guild to 50 for the extra amenities plus the ability to purchase higher lvl mounts and stuff later on. Is the road to 50 rough?

oh yeah, any one know how to make a fish tank? i saw a few of those in other guild halls. I have a shark, crab and octopus stuffie from doing quests (mostly in Everfrost) but what else do i need?

no one has replied yet so i'm going to add my own experiences as my guild progresses.

I just hit guild lvl 40 last night.... it took a week of grinding writs for about 1 hour a night weekdays and a couple of hours on sunday. 30-40 went by pretty fast and once again i was surprised. With the next expansion just around the corner and being the goal oriented person i am i think i will grind these writs for as long as i can take it. For now... onto 50!

Doing HQs adds a good amount of guild xp. I completed 5 HQs x 3 on Saturday and our guild went up 12% at lvl 68, so that's gotta translate into quite a bit at guild lvl 40.

As to the other stuff, I don't have an answer for those questions.

Guild level: 80

Guild hall level: 1 - why? no need to spend the mega-pps considering what I use the hall for...

Decorations: nothing except a herd of veteran display cases for selling stuff at an incredibly discounted rate to the market (i.e., basically minimum 'tax / sales fees' on all my sales)

Usage: portals - to me it's all about speed, the faster I can pillage a dungeon, gate back to the hall, dump and stock the display cases then move on, the better

Hard to guild level 50? IMHO, I didn't find it hard at all to get to 50 - just lots of writs (mainly KY) and I make sure all groups do their HQs

I did find things slowed right down from about 60 onwards though - but I still stand by my recommendation made in either this post or another - keep at the KY writs - very fast turnover for very little running - even if you just set yourself 1hr every other night - the levels will tick over (slowly - but surely)

I just got my guild to level 30 within the last week, and have been kicking around the idea of getting a guild hall. 50 platinum is a lot, and the 50 gold per week upkeep is nothing to sneeze at for me either. I’m not sure what the status costs are, but I think I have a fair buffer of that built up. It’s going to be difficult to do financially, but I think it will be really cool and ultimately it’s worth it.

I love the idea of having my own guild fortress – a place to have fun decorating, make life more convenient, etc. I just hate blowing that much money on one. At level 68 I’m getting 10g+ on a lot of quests, so with a team of 6 I can make an entire week’s rent in a single quest. That 50pp up front is going to hurt a LOT, but it’s just such a cool thing I can’t resist :)

If I understand correctly, I can get like 5 perk items with a level-30 guild. I haven’t looked at the entire list, but I think you can get like a druid teleporter thing that might be handy for druid-less teams. I definitely will get a guild teleporter thing so I can get to the guild hall from my houses. I like the idea of a crafter setup – I think you can get a guy who hands out crafting writs – and I’ll hopefully be able to get crafting stations.

I’ve mostly leveled to 30 by doing heritage quests and crafter rush writs. Most of my crafters are in their high 60s, so I can make about 12,000 status on a single rush quest (1,200 to the guild). I use them to level my crafters primarily, but the status is a nice perk.

It’s hard to imagine getting to level 40 or even 50; the push to 30 was pretty rough. I guess I should do more city quests - maybe once I hit 70 and can do the Kunark ones. The ones in Sands of Ro involved way too much running around to be very efficient, and weren’t very interesting either.

So, to answer your question, I am planning to buy a level-1 guild hall now that my guild has hit level 30. It’s a lot of money for me, but it’s just too cool to pass up. I will spend a stupid amount of time decorating it, putting books on the shelves, arranging furniture & crafting stations, etc. I will spend 50g per week on something that won’t help me survive any battles – but it will make the game a little more fun.

^ Captive2 i highly recommend doing the kunark writs. I also highly recommend purchasing a guild hall because it makes life so much simpler. No more having to run to buy a ticket and catch 2 boats to get to kylong plains from freeport (for example). Like noxxy said it get's you to where you want to go to make more plat so the amenities pay for themselves. You can easily pay for upkeep etc just by selling trash loot from small and treasured chests.

I should hit lvl 50 by tomorrow evening. the way i see it the expansion is coming out in a few months. I could race to 80 and madly do a bunch of shard runs to get some tier 1 shard armor but i'm pretty sure the tier 1 and tier 2 armor will be easily replaced by mastercrafted (minus the shard armor bonuses) in the next expansion. Better for me to save some money and not buy 6 x copies of the shadow odyssey, finish lvling guild, finish kunark quests + instances, buy expansion when it comes out, lock at 80, finish yeksha quests and then proceed to new expansion material.

oh yeah, the decorations of the guild hall are pretty fun too. i recently discovered (by snooping around other guild halls) that you can make old mounts guild hall decorations. that makes some old wargs come in handy. good stuff!

Wow, that’s impressive. I’m at 30, and that seemed like a grind at times. I still haven’t bought a guild hall, but plan to. My team hit level 70 this weekend, and I am now facing the realities of master spells costing 15-20pp (for the cheap ones) and experts that aren’t even available on the market. Even so, the guild hall is something that’s so cool I think I’m going to get one.

Congrats on 50 – that’s pretty cool :)
