Hey guys!

Im brand new to multiboxing and to the forums, and was wondering what everyone thought of this:

I know ele shammys are the way to go in 5v5 but what about a 3v3 boomkin team?

The idea is I would start stealth, pop out and cast starfire followed by an instance starfire via nature's swiftness on the same target (ideally the healer or most worrisome clothie). 6 starfires in 1 GCD should pretty much down anyone right? and after the healz are down, it should be easy going.

I figured I would spec all three with

thoughts? and thanks in advance, I have been all over this site and have learned everything I think I need to know to get started in less than an hour.

Finally, at risk of seeming like I'm rambling, Would Shadowmeld make 3 night elves a better option than tauren? I have a 72 tauren drood that I forgot about for a while, but could use him to RAF boost the other 2, unless Nelfs are that much better.

can't use starfire with nature's swiftness
you won't have enough burst to kill vs a really good healer but you could do reasonably well and have fun with it. that is after you've spent weeks farming enough honor based gear to be competitive in the 1k to 1400 range

Thanks for the quick response! Would mage 3v3 have the burst with PoM to down a healer in 1 rotation? are there any 3v3 multibox teams that are effective or am I more likely to be successful if I Dualbox and have a buddy heal?

Well I don't know what you mean by effective, but I managed to get about 1550 in 3v3 with elemental shaman, before I got relentless weapons and such. It's enough to get all the relentless off set pieces and a few relentless set pieces.

I suppose when I say effective I mean 2k+ rating? now that i type it it seems unrealistic but I suppose that was kind of my boyish dream of multiboxing. BUT my dreams can change if it cant be done.

I think the only viable 2k+ teams are quad shaman and apparently quad ret paladin as someone is doing that right now. This is 5v5 of course.

Maybe you could do 3x ret paladins?

Moonkins are shiat in arena right now. They don't have the burst do do much of anything. With their current implementation, 3v3 moonkins would very likely fail.

Yea I was thinking about that, or maybe 2 ret and 1DK, but I dont understand how people make melee work. Is there a macro that will keep everyone in range of and facing the target?

interact with target
it's a key binding.. but it can't be macro'd yet

probably spam it on a mouse button or something

Depending on your software option, you can almost macro it.

For InnerSpace, make a 2 step Keymap.
Step one sends your Interact With Target keybind to the clients of choice.
Step two (second press) sends the keybind for your macro, or a wow macro action.

It's two presses for two functions, but you can have them on the same key at least.

I had the same idea.

I was looking at various specs for my Boomkin team.
Deep enough in Balance for Force of Nature and Monsoon.
And then deep enough in Resto for Nature's Swiftness and improving Tranquility.
That looked like a very good combination, until I noticed Starfire is arcane and not nature.

The instant Healing Touch is still nice, but an instant Wrath isn't much of an offense.
It already casts very quickly.
Starfall x5, and extra points in Balance talents (less in Resto) will very likely be stronger.

In general, as a boxer, we're better off destroying a DPS type off the bat.
The dps are the threat to us, not so much the healer.
If we could go Starfire -> Nature's Swiftness -> Starfire.
The most dangerous dps would probably be a better target then the healer.

We still have Cyclone as an interrupt.
Not sure if you could Nature's Swiftness it.
That has potential; focus the healer, round-robin the Cyclone, possibly as an instant cast.
While bursting down someone.

Moonkins can't burst someone down. Yes, 5x starfire will take out many folks, but when talking about burst damage we're usually referencing instant cast spells that follow a different spell.

They're a ton of fun in BGs where you can snipe people off with burst, but in arena where they see you and actually react the moonkins are currently a fail.

Hopefully in the expansion they become a fun class again. Maybe they're next on the list to get a massive buff, though I doubt it since resto is so strong.

well to be honest you can get anything in arenas around 1500-1550 by just playing constant games. Before 1500 u dont lose points for losing games, meaning if u play enough u will get 1500. so if u want just 1500 and some nice gear to show off cool beans, 2k, well no ones ever really tried it yet.
