This is the melee macro I am using to get all my 3 shamans to melee using 1 pc and keyclone. The problem I have is they stop following each time I melee something. Is there a better attack macro that wont cause them to stop following everytime they melee?

/cast [target=focustarget] attack

Thats the macro I am using to make them melee attack. Lvl 12 shamans

Melee-ing breaks follow. There really isn't a way around it. Get used to pressing your follow macro after every fight. Also you've got shamans...Lightning bolt?

i only use the targe-focustarget on CAST spells

/assist focus
/attack or startattack...i forgot which works

but as the above quote suggests....keep your follow macro on a key you can do often. Mine is set on my upper right index finger position on N52 gamepad. And my attack CAST macro is on the little finger positon number one key. My attack MELEE is little finger bottom left key N52 gamepad.

ex...1..assistmacro 2.... 3....4....5...followmacro

6..castmacro...7...etc...8...etc...9...etc...10... .etc

11..attackmelee 12..etc...13..etc...14...etc

thats a rough idea of what i do....USE THE XKEY PRO 58 keys for your number keys and F keys...then set CONTROL, ALT, SHIFT as you see fit to change those respective keys. THEN....KEY BINDINGs within the game itself MAKE THEM ALL the same and place your macros respectively. What I mean by this is your F keys on one bar...shiftF keys on another bar...AltF keys on another bar...etc etc etc....make them all the same for each account.

hope that helps ya.

I have been lightning bolt mobs who dont come to me. On melee mobs I find they die much faster if I flameshock x 3 and melee. They run to me and I just press my attack key and they die pretty quick. This may change later but for now its faster than spamming lightning. And I dont blow all my mana.

I got my keys bound on my number pad. 1 is that attack and 6 is follow its not too bad just a pain.

Or get TwoBox toolkit (I forget from where google or search here) it reapplies follow after combat.

does twobox toolkit change follow if your main dies? right now I am using
/target focus
/follow

My main is focus. If he dies I change focus to an alt.

TBT does NOT change focus.

Also, to be clear, TBT only reapplies Follow post-combat and that's only if you have "stickyfollow" enabled and have done the /followme emote.

You can do

/follow focus
/assist focus
/startattack

Startattack is nice because it is spammable. If all your toons aren't in melee range you won't be toggling attack on for some and off for others. The other nice thing about startattack is that it will target the nearest enemy automatically.

I've been using /startattack on my ele shammies to level up weapon skills. As painful as collection quests are when I do decide to do one, for a nice reward or as part of a chain, I have taken to killing the mobs with just melee to level up weapons. Two painful birds with one stick ;p

it can, just add /w alt1 followme

/w alt2 followme

etc.. too your leader macros, and make sure all of em have been the master

Multiboxer addon autofollows after combat without hitting a key bind.

Only weird thing is sometimes it'll kick in when you've killed one mob while still fighting a second.

As previously mentioned, there's no way to prevent melee from breaking follow. :P

Once you get used to it, you should be able to go through an entire fight without having to reposition except when some mobs die. I tend to run up just to the side of mobs so the alts break follow on first hit and are in range, then I just turn my main 90 degrees and go to town.

Regarding macros, aside from shocks/instances/debuffs/totems/etc. (which are the same macros you'd use for elemental or otherwise) I basically spam two macros as needed:

1) my "/follow focus" macro
2) My enhancement shammy combat macro, which looks like this:

/assist focus
/stopmacro [noharm]
/startattack
/cast stormstrike

Worked very well for me.
