View Full Version : Looting?

I'd like to 'have a go' at multi-boxing, probably this weekend.

The stickies in the various parts of this forum are really helpful, and I've spent the best part of a few hours planning my set up with the guides here.

As far as I am aware though, no macro exists for looting, so how, for example, would I loot on the 2nd or 3rd instances without tabbing into the other window?

The whole 'control many with one' feeling would be kind of ruined for me if I had to switch between windows manually just to loot a quest item for each character, or roll on loot.

Is there an addon or such to alleviate this problem?

I think autolooting from another character window would be too much like automation and then be against the ToS. There are several addons that will autopass on loot though. twoboxtoolkit for one, and there's another ace2 mod that does this but the name escapes me at the moment.

I always run my group on FFA looting and once my bags are full spend a few seconds trading the stuff to another character (there is a macro in the forums for accepting trades).

This way I never have to touch my other characters until I go back to a town and want to sell up. Of course this doesn't help with quest items but still I ffa loot the corpse and if it's still shining afterwards I know there is a quest item an alt can take.

If you're that big into immersion, you could just not do quests.... Yeah, you're going to have to loot an your alts if you want to level in reasonable times.

Group loot FFA. Its all you can really do. Without breaking the TOS. Now if it were a quest Item you just got to tab between the windows

I just use master loot because i rarely pick up the other trash drops at low levels and for instances I can easily desginate where loot will go. I just hit 'c' to open all character windows and see who needs it then give it to that person and mouse over to equip it then move on. Even with just greens and cloth the bags get filled up pretty quick and I can make money much easier on my mains. And this is another reason why collection quests for multiboxers make panda sad since you must loot with everything.

I've gotten used to standing the same way, a little to the side of the body and pressing follow. That way, when the alts stop, the body end up in the same place on the screen and you just right click without moving the mouse.

That doesn't work if you have the same mouse for all characters. :-(
