Anyone 5-box BWL?

I 5-box but I'm a total achievement whore on my main. As such, I'm farming up Elementium Ore to try and get some of the exotic L60 stuff done.

Problem is, the first two bosses in BWL are really irritating to solo. Anyone ever managed to pull it off?

I have:

Protection/Ret paladin (amazing prot gear, ok ret)
Feral tank/Boomkin druid (ok gear for both specs)
Frostfire mage (ok gear)
Elemental/resto shaman (ok gear both specs)
Holy/shadow priest (good holy gear, bad shadow gear)

Thoughts? Right now I'm thinking about just paying gold to hire a few people to come along and help with the first two bosses and ignore the rest. Just seems silly...

I have paladin + elemental shaman group, in heroic gear.

I just had one shaman control the orb (disabled the key multiplexer from that window) during the cooldown time I had to tank the room and the boss (yawn). So I basically escorted him around while be did the eggs.

If I don't escort him and just tank the trash and pick up him, he would reset and wipe us.

Yes it would be easier to find anyone to single box the orb.

I tried this solo with my Pala + 4 x Shamans team, and I didn't succeed.

So I went there with my 5-boxer buddy and his 5 druids. We still didn't succeed. Tanking the whole room is a no brainer, the issue is to keep the freekin' dragon alive. He getq attacked all the time while being controled. Covering him is easy enough, but I also had to cover my buddy's character controling the orb. He got attacked quite badly. I never managed to keep both alive, and he never managed to deal with the orb and mobs attacking him.

I guess we just need to practice the encounter a few more times (we only had a couple of tries at it).

It is the last donjon/raid I still need from Vanilla WoW except for AQ40 (didn't try it yet).

great video, but as of 3.0.x you don't need Onyxia Scale Cloaks anymore, you can simply LOS the boss behind the throne (where you killed the adds)

That's what people said in 2.0 and even in Vanilla and it has never worked. Just get a stupid cloak and don't worry about it.

I have done it just for fun multiple times and listened to people say this, then watched everyone without a cloak die when Nef Lands.

For the first boss: Control the orb from the floor not the platform. The boss has a couple of spells to help on adds between egg kills. Station your guys around the controller to prevent the mobs from getting to him. If the boss has aggro from the adds bring him closer to take them out with your protective screen while egg smash is on cool down. Only 40 adds will spawn, unless it bugs out, so if you can avoid killing them and just tank them they will run away, unless it bugs out, when all the eggs die. Your controller will have aggro when the eggs are all gone - until he gets the combustion or incinerate - whatever it is called. If you get to this point it shouldn't really matter much though.

Really? I took my 3 shaman who do not have cloaks, and I LOS fine and never died to Nef landing. All 3 survived the entire fight. Maybe you should teach people to LOS properly?

Edit* According to wowhead comments on the Onyxia Scale You can still get scales, so you can still get cloaks made if you really want to, but meh.

Maybe Fur is right and it is Buggy. All I know is the 3 times I have been back, in groups of 15-25, every person with a cloak survives the whole fight no matter where they hide and everyone with out a cloak dies when he lands. /shrug

The Cloak is not hard to make.

Well, mostly. I had to invite one other player to have enough DPS for Vael, but that will hopefully improve over time.

Yeah I don't get how they had enough DPS to 5box Vael, with people dying every however many seconds. Especially since it's in some kinda hate order, so the tank is living on borrowed time. The lowest I got him was 33%.
One ankh left; gonna try one more time then head to bed. No way am I repeating that corpse run tonight!
