Injecting verbal diarrhea like "Windows Me II (Vista)" in a purported "tech" article makes you look like an opinionated, grandstanding drama queen. And then adding completely incorrect data like, "If you put two monitors on Windows, and drag a video, or something that uses overlays, so it spans two screens, half of the image or movie will not display," just makes you look like a completely uninformed opinionated, grandstanding drama queen.
/rolleyes
For a much less editorial article on the tech along with links to more data: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2009/09/28/amds_ati_eyefinity_technology_review/
Thanks Ugh, that's definitely a better article.

Wow my latest upgrade (installation of a Perc 5i) has been on hold due to PCIE limitations (my mobo only has 2x PCIEx16, currently using 2 video cards for 3 monitors).
This means new motherboard, causing me to get new memory (currently have 8gb DDR2, DDR3 is the new standard), and if I'm going that far might as well get a new CPU while I'm at it (why stay Socket 775... it's dying anyways).
With this card I could recacpture a slot, use the other slot for the controller... hmmmm...not a big ATI fan though.

there was one company that specialized in making monitors with very little border to be used with multiple screens. i agree that having a 2 inch border interrupting everything would be more of an annoyance than cool.
but for the video card, thats pretty sweet to know.

Argeed, it would be nice if someone manufactured a monitor with a reduced/eliminated bezel.

The EyeFinity 5870 SIX card has been known about for months. I kicked around the idea of getting this or the standard 5870 2GB, which supports 3 displays, and I'm leaning toward only using 3. Reasons? First, I don't want a bezel in the MIDDLE of my viewing area. I don't mind small bezels, but the center of my viewing area needs to be bezel-free, which isn't going to happen in a 2x3 display setup with the EyeFinity SIX. With 3 displays, I've got a nice & clean center display with an extra screen on each side. I've played Left 4 Dead on this setup using 22" displays in portrait setup, and it's immersing while the bezels aren't distracting at all (to me anyway).
The other big reason I'm not going with the EyeFinity SIX? Resolution. Sure, this is great for development, productivity, or whatever to have a big surface area to play with, but rendering real-time 3D at 6x 1920x1200 (or higher) resolution isn't going to magically have the same performance as only rendering half the resolution with 3 displays on the same GPU/memory.
The only way I'd get the EyeFinity SIX for gaming.. is if I'm going to run *5* 1440x900 displays side-by-side in portrait mode. Would be cool for flight sims or WoW multiboxing.. but I'd rather just have 3 larger screens.
When's the damn 5870 2GB model coming out? :/
