Hello everyone,

I want to switch to /click since I find many advantages on that.

Here's what I want:
0 - Spam Wind Shear
1 - Cast Flame Shock and Use Trinket
2 - Use Berserking and cast Chain Lightning
3 - Cast Elemental Mastery and Cast (instant) Lava Burst
4 - Fill in with Lightning Bolts and throw Bloodlust

I have (note: not yet the arena targets, this is just to test in dummies):

0 - Spam Wind Shear
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/cast wind shear
/click BonusActionButton1
/click BonusActionButton2
/click BonusActionButton3
/click BonusActionButton4
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

1 - Cast Flame Shock and use Trinket
#showtooltip Flame Shock
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/use Platinum Disks of Sorcery
/castsequence reset=5 Flame Shock,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

2 - Use Berserking and cast Chain Lightning
#showtooltip Chain Lightning
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/cast berserking
/castsequence reset=4 Chain Lightning,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

3 - Cast Elemental Mastery and Cast (instant) Lava Burst
#showtooltip Lava Burst
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/cast elemental Mastery
/castsequence reset=8 Lava Burst,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

4 - Fill in with Lightning Bolts and throw Bloodlust
#showtooltip Lightning Bolt
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/castsequence reset=300 Bloodlust, null
/cast Lightning Bolt
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

Everything is working just fine, waiting for the correct cds and all except that it's the chain lightning that's getting the Instant effect from EM. Maybe it's because I'm bashing maybe another reason but I'd like to know if someone can help me here.
What is happening is that as soon as I press the /click macro it uses both berserking and EM immediately.

Another note, I really intend to put chain lightning before the Instant LvB. Since it's an instant I'm pretty sure (well...) I'll be able to cast it and hopefully I can cast CL while they're coming. Teams are really aggressive (imo) in my BG.
Also, throwing the CL before the instant LvB also puts more pression on the opponent team and hopefully increases doubt on who am I REALLY targetting first.

I put Bloodlust on auto for now since so far I really don't use it much (due to lack of skill/reaction). Normally if I use the IWIN macro it means it's an intense moment in the fight so maybe it's not bad to put BL here. We'll see...

Thank you in advance.

Um, why do you think /click has an advantage in arena?

I don't so I can't comment on what you're trying to accomplish.

I've been using /click for a while in pve and I like its modularity.
I don't know yet the relevance of the main advantage of /click compared to castsequence in arena though and I'd like to test it. In pve even in short fights against packs of mobs or just killing the test dummies, the simple switch from castsequence to /click using the exact same priority on spells represented a net gain of 30% dps. Again, not relevant for the kill one now macro but for the continuity fight. Never tested, cannot tell :). If there is no solution to this I'm trying to implement, I'll just go back to castsequence.

But for now, what I have it's a technical issue with the /click, maybe a limitation, I don't know but if it represents that same gain in arena I really want to do it. I can do this sequence in a castsequence not cyclable macro (till em is up again) but I'd just hate to waste a binding for this. I prefer to have a full time operational kill one macro.

Another thing is that at least I'm not losing anything if I'm able to put this /click to work ;)

I posted over in your other thread too.

I would think if you were to go from target A to target B etc, and DPS them down without subtlety, Click type macro's would rock.

However in PvP, you will generally get more from moving from target to target. You'd want to Glyph for Flame Shock having a reduced GCD. The talents to reduce its cooldown would be great. I'm not sold on reducing the cooldown on Elemental Mastery, although that is our I-Win button.

With a click macro, you'd Flame Shock then Lava then Chain then Lightning spam.

In Arena or BG's, you'd likely Purge a bit, Flame Shock someone, then Flame Shock someone else. You'd really benefit most from having an FTL system where any toon can lead as well as any other. And then having Flame Shocks on more then one person at once, so they're not sure who your real target is. For arena, I'd want the Elemental Master (I-Win) button, and then have each major spell on its own hotkey - Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Flame Shock, Frost Shock, Lava Burst, Purge.

Using click can have a definite advanatge, it depends on your latency - castsequence basically pauses inbetween each step and waits for confirmation from the server before moving to the next step. The pause will effectively last as long as 2 x your latency becuase its a round trip - client sends a request to the server, server sends the response back to the client (i.e. if your latency is 50ms, the delay will be 100ms). Click minimises the delay between spells becuase it's calling several macros at once.

If you already play on low latency, you won't notice much of a difference. But for someone like me playing from Australia with a 300-500ms latency, the difference is noticable (on my shams it works out to about 400-600 dps improvement).

Hope this helps...

Cheers,
S

For PvE, its potentially a huge boost.

For PvP, you will almost never want to always go Spell A, Spell B, Spell C, Spell D, and recast in that priority order as they expire. Well, maybe for Alterac Valley when you're dps is on Drek/Vandar, but that's about it.

Generally you'd want an FTL system.

Have Flame Shock on say button 1, for every toon.
Have Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Frost Shock, Lava Burst, Purge, Lesser Healing Wave, Fire Nova, Grounding etc each on their own key too.
Have Thunderstorm and Earthbind on round robins.

Don't really go with click sequences or castsequences.
Just FTL spells, with one spell per hotkey, possibly a Wind Shock in there too.

Doesn't do much good if the spam is still here, clicky links and all.
