Random Guy "how do you all have the same gear?" --I'm wearing all pvp gear
me "lot's of pvp grinding...just like everyone else"
him "Ya but some of that gear only drops once" --I'm assuming he means my trinkets
me "Ya once per run"
him "But it's from a heroic, you can only run those once"
me "...per day..."
him "whatever you duped gear somehow, get it for me or I'll report you...blah blah you're a hacker blah blah..."
me "report away, btw, requesting stolen items and extorsion/blackmailing are against the ToS, multiboxing is not, consider that prior to clicking send on that report :D"

I was amused by the fact that he couldn't figure out that 90% of the players that PvP a lot are wearing nearly identical gear...

In one BG a mage used mirror image during preparation, then I just spread my toons in cross formation. Next I see in chat was the mage bitching about...

Mage: "WTF! They gave mirror image to shamans too? NERF!"
Me: "Our mirror image is permanent and we cast all the same spell and do same damage as the main toon"
Mage: "WTF! I they even gave you a buffed version :( "

I get a lot of:

- How much do you sell each account for?

I've been around since WotLK, so those tells are getting a little bit less. I think I'm the main boxer alliance side on The Scryers.

I do also get the, "Why are there three of you?" comments, even though there's five of me. That's when I do my spread out macro. haha.

thatguy - "Why do you have so many girls following you?"
me -"They are my fan club and personal bodyguards?"
thatguy - "you are a prot pally. you don't need bodyguards."
me- "well they protect me from my hawtness. Being a belf is hard on my mirror."
thatguy- "WTF. You serious?"
me - "dude no. check out dual-boxing.com. Everything you need to know about multiboxing."

That was a convo I had when I was running my horde belf team of male prot pally, 3 female mages and a female priest. I remember the WTF You serious question almost knocked me off my chair. The rest of the conversation pretty much went on to explain what multiboxing was. I didn't mind spending a little time explaining it to him cuz he made me laugh.

I was farming boars last night on my new 4 lock/druid team last night in Goldshire. Another guy in the area started laughing and said my team looked like a train. I responded by making the /train macro on each of my chars real quick and started hitting the key while I was running around dotting everything in sight.

Next thing you know that guy starts following my team around doing the same thing and we're eventually joined by 2 other people by the time I rounded up all the quest mats. It's one of those "special" moments that only a 5-man team seems to spark.

I had just gotten to Borean Tundra and a lvl80 belf started following me on a drake. I didn't notice at first since I had ground mounts but sure enough I look up and he's there hovering. After a while he's joined by a few other 80's hovering on their drakes and I think to myself "let the harassment begin"

I say "yes?" and they all come down and start saying how kewl it is that I'm multiboxing and proceed to ask tons of questions.. then I get the one I'm sure you've gotten.. "how do you pay for 5 accounts?" "it's only 75$ a month" ... "But you had to buy vanilla, BC and WOTLK x5!! that's a couple hundred $$" ....I'm sitting there with my 5man team .. keep in mind that I just started playing WoW around March of this year and this team will be my first toons to 80..

I'm sitting there looking at these fully decked out raid gear 80's (with gear envy) and realize that they are probably my daughter's age (either in junior or high school) and the only answer I had for them is "I can pay for all of this because I have a job"

OK I realize that its not exactly what the OP asked but it is the funniest incident I've had.

Been almost a year since I was boxing my pally & 4x shaman.. got plenty of the "reported" "wtf?" "why are there 3 of you?" "you have your own basketball team" "cheater/botter/hacker/whatever" comments.. but perhaps the best moment came last night.

I just arrived to Thrallmar in Outlands with my 5x lvl 58 death knights.. fresh out of the dk starting zone. A new guildie flies over to see how I've got 5x guys with the same name all playing.. I say watch this as I leave town to show him a 5x dk meatgrinding killing spree of orcs & boars just outside town.

Totally unexpected when I get past the gates of town, a lvl 80 hunter lands and wipes my team easily.. I was dead before I realized what happened. I corpse rez and make it to the gates, heal up, and watch as the hunter hovers on his drake just outside Thrallmar, tempting me to leave again..

I tell my guildie to watch this.. he's a lvl 67 boomkin druid hanging back in town.

Sure enough, the lvl 80 hunter tried taunting me a little too close, and one of my first 5x death grips in rotation isn't resisted while ripping his ass off his drake right into my chains of ice and about a dozen town guards. A few other lvl 60-65 horde in town get a few shots in while between 5x chains of ice, 5x obliterates, and my guildie's roots.. he drops dead. Fool tried to fly away twice but the 5x death grip rotation was enough to keep him close even though he resisted a couple.. was definitely one of those moments to make me smile.

Like everyone else i get the lvl one whisper me your a damn cheater im reporting you for cheating and cussing at me. All i do is lol ignore. This got to the point and got tired of it that i use spammenot addon now and block anything below lvl 50. So my message says when you grow up and reach lvl 50 then you can cuss or talk to me then until that time please move on and gripe somewhere else.

Hehe... I remember you in your cross formation in IF one evening after we had a discussion about multi-boxing and you were jumping your slaves in pairs and people were just surrounding you asking for buffs and stuff :D

I started my 5 man on Argent Dawn last night and was playing around with them in the starters area and another person was just looking at me asking me what the hell was going on :D

A bit later on, I had just killed some battleboars and was running back past a troll shaman who just looked at me and sighed.

I've been toying with making a small skit or something to play with when people are nice - I've had a few requests to show off, people like seeing my team kill, when I'm out questing or doing dailies, and I get a lot of random tells because of my guild name, "Cake Or Death" (Eddie Izzard sketch, if you don't know, YouTube it, it's hilarious). I was thinking of one going "Cake or death?" and then having alternate responses from the team depending on what they say.

Hmm. Maybe I'll make a new guild for the next team, call it "The Spanish Inquisition", and macro them all to say "NOBODY expect the Spanish Inquisition!"

Did'nt somebody here have a magic show, or something, that they did?

Yesterday, on my mixed team (Priest, Mage, Druid, Shaman, Warlock) I hit my buff hotkey on a random person.

So they get Fortitude, Spirit, Intellect, Mark, Thorns, Water Walking, See Invis and Unending Breath.

Their response is, "Don't you dare buff me."
I'm like, "Why not?"
Them, "I don't want to associate with account sellers".
Me, "This would be a very horrible way to make money, accounts and subscriptions cost more then you'd get probably, besides I love my toons."
Them, "There's no reason to play more then one, unless you're selling."
Me, "Whatever"
Them, "So and So is ignoring you".

One of my alts added them to the friend list.
So six months from now, if I'm off of their ignore list, I can have all my toons whisper that I'm still playing and haven't sold anything. If I even bother.

Cracks me up how many kids think $75/mo is expensive. That's such a small fraction of my monthly bills.. it's not even noticed at all. I just want to tell these kids to put 24/7 WoW on pause and try actually dating for a change.. $75 barely covers one good dinner for two, wine not included.

I think I get this one more often than anything, and that's typically the response I use - can't even get a decent dinner for two for that price, and that's only one night.

You can easily assume that anyone who has an issue with the cost of MBing

A. Doesn't have any money, beyond allowance or a minimum wage job
B. Has never been on a date or had a girlfriend (they have NO idea how expensive that is)
C. Is most likely young, awkward socially, and generally does not leave the house (or they'd have some clue about the adult world).

Looking at the Blizzcon pictures, it's a safe bet that covers most of them.

The rest are just plain old cheapskates or trolls.

It's kid stuff. I tuned it out a long time ago.

Last night I was buying some gear from the vendor in wintergrasp with my team all stacked up.

I sadly notice to late that someone is nuking one of the other shammies from on top of the wall. I run in hard against the wall to LoS the guy. He jumps down and I flameshock x 4 him in the hope that he will go away and stop being annoying. The flameshocks actually manage to kill him as he runs off.

Next thing you know a lvl 1 is sending me tells about how cheap it is to 4 box pvp, hacker etc etc. This from a guy that ganks people who are obviously shopping and actually started a fight.

I normally dont ever pvp on this team. I think they might have a total kills of 12 each.

It's all good to gank someone who isn't paying attention.
But its not fun when they fight back and kill your toon.

The guy is a hypocrit.

If he doesn't want to die in a pvp situation, the solution is simple.
Play on a carebear server, avoid enemy cities and do not BG/Arena.

At 8.99GBP x 5, it is definitely a lot cheaper than a night out on the tiles with a bunch of friends where you are forking out 15-30GBP/round (depending on who is there and where we are) on alcohol. And if I smoked it would potentially be a lot more expensive as well.

On the whole, £45/month on wow is a lot better than forking out that much on alcohol in a week.

Besides, I am starting to get a lot of people stopping and looking at me when I am running around with the 5 box team... and there have been no haters as yet

He messaged me again calling me a cheater and a bunch of other fun and insightful stuff. After a few minutes of responding "k", I look at what guild he's in and amazingly he's in the same guild as my main.

So, I log over to my main and put a message in guild chat...

[Guild] Hey XXX, can you stop wasting your time reporting my shaman?

I had like 4 people go "???", ">.>" and "huh?".

Started with WoW just a few weeks ago, started to box a small week ago and now the happy owner of my 5x shaman team (lvl 30ish). First solo'd to 26 and no one was paying attention cq bothering me (which is good). Things will never be the same since i lined up my 5 guys:

one way or another lower players consider me a veteran now, they ask me stuff and I have no clue what they are talking about. They don't believe me when I say I just started with the game, and it has happened they call me a prick for not willing to provide them with the proper *expert* info. Which is hilarious.
established players don't believe I'm a newbie either, and they try to figure out which *established* player is behind my toons with suggestive/tricky questions about events in the past. Fun thing cause no way I can be fooled as I have no clue.
I seem to attract more goldsellers/farmers/scammers now (things like 'if you have an inactive account we will farm it for 150 gold a day', or 'are you selling those toons later on?', etc etc).
Most fun I had when someone called me 'Chinese', calling me a blatant cheater/goldfarmer/sweatshop victim. Just minutes before I saw him talking in chat in Dutch (as I'm Belgian thats my native language). So I try to impersonate broken Chinese English. Of course I forgot to de-activate enter broadcasting, making me reply with 5 toons. Some of his mates (also Dutch) jumped in making fun of this *Chinese guy*. Until I answered in perfect Dutch, pulling the joke on them. However they were fair enough to see the fun in the situation.

On a side note: many players on my server doesn't seem to be familiar with multiboxers (i haven't encountered an other one yet), they follow me a while, stand in front of me and ask the regular 'wtf'* questions. But most of the time this has let to some good and entertaining conversations.

I've only been 5-boxing for a couple weeks. Never got much notice when i was dual boxing. However, running thru Stormwind with my team has gotten me a little attention. Most of the responses i get are the typical "wtf" or just curiosity... plus a few "lol" and "the rare "fail" comments. I did however have a couple encounters that made me chuckle. My team was waiting on me to finish looking something up on Wowhead, so rather than have them sit at the main gate of SW in AFK mode... I let them dance. When i looked up from my laptop, they had been joined by a level 80 Druid, dancing away and blowing kisses to the "girls".

The same afternoon, while running thru Old Town in SW, I had a lvl 80 follow me for quite a while. After making it to the Deeprun Tram, I see him yell "Look Out Everyone, Here comes the PAIN TRAIN" i started rolling.. and then thought..hmmm not a bad name for a guild

I recall once while playing an alliance group through Darkshire, this individual typed up some glorious, high-minded, spouting wall of text at me and then ran off to avoid my retort.

Don't you just love that behavior, spouting some long winded accusation and then they run off? I can just imagine them running off in RL yelling "lalalalalalala" with their fingers in their ears (that scene in Liar-Liar comes to mind).

I had another request to kill something so someone could watch recently, I love that. I'm running around Icecrown on a regular basis, and I think everyone is just used to my team, I havent had any snotty "'sup, botter?" comments in a long time.

The accusations of selling our accounts cracks me up, sell my accounts after all the work I've done?

Back during my RAF, I created a team of five druids.
All of them female night elves.

About 30 seconds into arranging their chat frames, etc...
And starting to configure their macro's...

Five more female night elf druids appear.
Not sure who it was, but we were chatting in /say with one toon each.
I was asked if I'm on dual-boxing.com at all.
I said I was, and the other boxer basically said they read but almost never post.

Another person logs in, and is listening to our conversation.
And basically going holy shit, quite a bit in chat.
Then we turn around and Wrath x5 a mangy cat or whatever..
As we test our macro's.

The level 1 was really amused by 10 druids hanging around doing nothing.
But after 15-20 mins of tinkering around, we both leveled very quickly.
Had RAF at the same time, and ended up leaving the newbie area ahead of the solo boxer...
Who had a 15 min head start on us.

Kind of funny, what are the chances two boxers will log level 1 toons of the same race and class in at the same time, both configuring their teams for the first time? I added each of their names to my druids friend list, but never saw them again, at least not while playing the druids.

I get that a bit.
Not too often, maybe once every month or two.

I usually let them know I'd make a lot more at McDonalds then I could selling toons.

But then say, I'd definitely not sell even if it was profitable to do so.
I love my toons and have put a lot of work into them.

Quite often we get ignored somewhere in there.

I have had one member add them to my friends list.
And then sent a guy a tell 6 months later.
Something like, "Still playing all 5 toons together, not selling them."

Yes its fun to read those:

"Are you going to sell them?"

I have played 7,5 days on my team at lvl 60. If I transfer this into effective time I could invoice to a customer in my accounting firm it would yield around 12.200$$ prior VAT.

I wonder who would pay that for 5*lvl 60 toons :D lol

Ive only been boxing for about 2 weeks, I have had multiple "reported" including one who I think I turned into a convert of sorts. The 2 most amusing ones for me though were
One guy who paid me 5g to take a screenshot of my team (I used a cross formation macro)
Another guy who asked me "Why are you strobing like that"

I love to cause havoc in the room before Vault...and people wandering around the base. Eventually, enough horde show up and give me a good fight. After they eventually wiped me today.....i get a tell basicly saying that i was a sad person that sucks at wow....and he feels "sorry" for me everytime I take on more people that I can take.

Um....isnt that the point? Sure one shotting solo people is fun.....but taking on mobs of people and holding my ground....now that is fun! Sure, sometimes i get my ass handed to me in seconds, but im not mad about it......its all a learning experience. Plus....you cant tell me they are not having fun trying to kill me. I mean, they could have gone on their merry way...but no...had to keep comming back for more.

Also, Im always flagged for pvp when i do dailies(pve realm). I actually had people on 3 seperate occasions.....during the same day.........to purposely flag themselves to take me out. 2 of the 3 times I can tell they thought I was afk and figured It would be an easy kill....but they both got one shotted. One of them then decides to msg me to describe how sad, and desperate I was to need 5 toons to beat anyone. I mean.....he was the one trying to gank me. lol

This week I was picking up the daily heroic in front of VH, when I attracted the attention of someone who, bright eyed and bushy tailed, wanted to know what he was looking at. When I took a moment to reply, a random bystander did so.

Random guy: "It's a cheat. Very noobish."
At this moment I was delighted to have installed gearscore, which gave me a quick answer option:
Me: "Multiboxing is not a cheat. But if I am so very noobish and yet have better gear than you - what does that say about you?"
Amazed guy: "LoL"

Random guy took that as his cue to shut up and discretely fuck off. =]

love these threads...

Recently switched over from Feathermoon to Nazgrel to meet up with a friend. Never really had any hate on Feathermoon, nor that much attention in general.

Im running 5 Bloodelf pallies, 1 male and 4 females. The females all look the same. Probably why Im getting all the attention.

Just started getting screenies on the ones that make me laugh.

This is exactly what people need to do imo. I like to put on a show for people to enjoy when they see my 5 guys. Usually it's just moving into a formation and having my guys all dance at the same time or something silly, but it makes people lighten up. And lots of people will run up and start dancing too. When I'm playing my DKs a popular request is to see them all do Army of the Dead, so I do that in Dalaran once in a while. Or I made all 5 of my guys juggle the flame torches or whatever during the summer festival, that was a fun one. If someone's whining and they're right next to you, entertaining them with simple tricks is a good way to change their mood ;)

As far as the thread topic, it's dumb how many people think we're bots. My favorite went something like this:

I was in Undercity, going from the flight path to one of the lifts, and this guy was doing the same thing, with my guys in front of him at the door for the lift
him: "bots."
me: "you wouldn't know a bot if it slapped you in the face"
him: "5 of them just did"

I love playing around on my mages in town for people.

1.) Ashenvale quest to get Dartol's Rod of Transformation
2.) Level up to 80 for Mirror Image.
3.) Use rod on all five mages
4.) Mirror Image
5.) You now have 20 furbolgs running around Dalaran, followed shortly by many, many, "WTF"

Edit: Haven't done it yet, but I'm hoping the Iron Dwarf flask and frenzyheart drink also work like this.

Go back to turn them in and this guy next to me starts"

him: Yes you are, just admit it!
me: Maybe you're a bot pretending to be a human
him: I'm not a bot! I'm reporting you!
me: Cool, are you going to write one complaint or three?
him: I dunno
me: If it was me I would write three.
him: Damn! These bots are getting better and better.

I was running around Hellfire around lvl 61-62 with my 4x Shaman team when someone messages me "REPORTED!". I replied back with the standard "k" response.

He was like ... "That was you?!!?!?"

Me ... "About that cheater comment and everything following that ... "

Him ... "Oh, yeah, sorry about that..."

Hmm, I recognize this situation.

Well I was in kinda the same situation, except that my main character was IN the same guild (as Rank: ALT)
(On my teams my Main is in the guild (Parasites) and my Slaves are in my own guild (Schizophrenics).)

In /g I pointed him to the Article I posted on the guild forum about multiboxing explaining everything.
He still gave me shit like cheater/bot/goldseller in /g but suddenly stopped when realized that my Main in the guild was actually an officer and I am the Admin/owner of the GuildForum :)
Needless to say that guy left the guild shortly after :)

They didn't realize that I was boxing, and said afterwards, " That was quite convenient of the lvl 80 to log on the moment we needed him on and helping us :)
