Elemental Shaman PVE Epics [solo farming]

I'm currently researching for the highest ilevel epic equips that any multiboxer can possibly have by soloing. I'll update the list for any recommendation posted

It sure sucks that the only gear with both spellpower and + hit is the Tier gear, and cloth gear with spirit, which is useless to shamans. It's very tough to get hit capped. IMO shamans should have more talents for + hit in the elemental tree. I mean my Arcane mage gets 6% for free, my shadowpriest gets 3 for herself and 3 more for the party/raid, my lock and shaman both get 3%, but locks have all that lovely cloth spellpower/spirit/hit gear.

I guess wearing the enhancement gear is an option, but it seems like a waste to get all that +hit without any spellpower. Id rather hit harder less often, then hit like a pansy all the time... I guess i should farm H VH for the hit trinket, and gem/enchant for hit :(

Your waste (I think you mean waist) is the attackpower one, you probably mean this one : Windchill Binding) and as a side grade : Girdle of the Dauntless Conqueror

Nice list, some thoughts from me:

Waste: Windchill Binding
Legs: Leggings of the Weary Mystic

Gloves are good, but they link to the wrong item.

Other options for a few items:
Feet: Treads of Coastal Wandering (Not the best but only 40 valor)
Back: Cloak of Kea Feathers (Not the best, but not a drop)

Sash of Ancient Power

is BIS, it's 6 runed orbs and a lot of cloth, 10 ebon, 10 spell. but it's very worth it to have the 3 sockets. Just got 2 of these for my elementals.

Use Rawr as a guide sure but please be aware of the following limitation:

You do not need anywhere near that amount of hit for heroic bosses so we are assuming you are gearing for raid bosses.

Raid bosses take longer to kill so you will be using Chain Lightning in your rotation (current rotation drops CL when BL is up) how often you CL will depend on what gear you have - on cooldown is the most dps if you can sustain it - if not you will only CL when Elemental Focus is up (luckily for us we can guarantee that it is up every time LvB lands so the rotation is not as horrible as it could be.

RAWR does not model Chain Lightning rotations so use it, love it, but be aware that it may not be giving you 100% accurate gear choices at the moment

Regarding +hit - yep, which is why I said "note this assumes you are going for a Raid level hit rating, have the shaman +hit talents, and have a shadow priest or balance druid" in my post.

To clarify for others, the exact +hit ratings required to achieve a 100% hit rate on raid bosses are as follows:

No talents or buffs:
Horde Shaman: 446
Alliance Shaman: 420

With 3 points in Elemental Precision:
Horde Shaman: 368
Alliance Shaman: 342

With 3 points in Elemental Precision, boss debuffed with either Improved Faerie Fire or Misery:
Horde Shaman: 289
Alliance Shaman: 263

To achieve a 100% hit rate on heroic bosses:

No talents or buffs:
Horde Shaman: 158
Alliance Shaman: 132

With 3 points in Elemental Precision:
Horde Shaman: 79
Alliance Shaman: 53

With 3 points in Elemental Precision, boss debuffed with either Improved Faerie Fire or Misery:
Horde Shaman: 0
Alliance Shaman: 0

Good point about using Rawr to model gear choices - I understand that it's not taking CL into account for it's rotations, but that said, we're talking about the best gear outside of raids, i.e. the choice is pretty limited - you're bascially drawing on the pool of badge gear, crafted gear, honor gear and heroics.

I'm pretty sure that the next update for Rawr will tank into account CL rotations (whether every CD, or just after LvB only). It's a sham that Bink is no longer doing his spreadsheet though... :(

When I finish my list, I might separate out the best for heroics and the best for raids.
