So, me, being the twisted evil genius that I am got an idea today. I know, crazy, Zseth come up with someone new? nah. What if the majority of the forums, with the exclusion of the beginner forums required a donation to receive access. I think it would drastically reduce the number of kids coming on here, while at the same time helping to stablize the community. The old school guys frankly wouldn't mind as we donate as it is, but it would prevent little johnny talking about having to get his parents to pay for stuff with multiboxing. Love it, hate it, let me know.

As noble as that is, I want the forums to be as welcoming as possible - the new forums should seriously be up very soon, and with that I believe a lot of repeat questions with be handled with a much easier to read format.

The NY Times tried this. They wound up with a far lower online market share as a result. Not apples to apples but I don't see how it would help build the community.
