Not much to add the drivers just don't work unless I'm doing something silly so would like to know if someone has it working under this os and what drivers are they using.
Thank you

I can't comment on the TE version but my plain N52 worked normally. I downloaded the drivers for vista from their website and off it went.

I never even installed the software for mine under windows 7 yet, just left the WoW profile I use loaded as the default internal map (which is working just fine). Although, I wouldn't anticipate any trouble loading the vista software for it if/when i need to.

To run the N52te under Windows 7 64bit.
Install the older drivers found on Belkin's site.
http://www.belkin.com/support/article/?lid=en&pid=F8GFPC200&aid=9266&scid=231
I installed version: 1.01
I was able to open the configuration editor and re-map any and all keys. As well as create macro's.
Please note that due to running older drivers this device may not function as intended, and that upgrading to new drivers may cause it to not function on a Windows 7 64bit system all-together.
I have tested the newest drivers and firmware and was not successful in getting them to operate under Windows 7.
This has made my day. I was sick of the feel of the G13, and the macro capabilities. Back to my wonderful N52te!
If you have any questions please direct them to Belkin's wonderful product support :)
If this doesn't work for you I am very sorry.

Hey All,
I had a good amount of trouble getting the n52te to work with Windows 7 ultimate x64, but finally did find a solution that has worked on multiple machines for me. It certainly was not as easy as simply installing the drivers. I want to share this info with the internet, and this seemed like a decent place to post ( relevant and high in google search results ). How I got this working:
Be sure to use an admin account for all steps. Also unplug the device and remove previous driver version before install, if any.
1. Install version 2.1.1 from here:
http://www.belkin.com/support/article/?lid=en&pid=F8GFPC200&aid=9266&scid=231
2. Reboot
3. Plug in device
4. Go to
Device Manager > Human Interface Devices
Look for USB Input Device. There should be many entries called this.
5. Click on Properties for each of the USB Input Device's and check the Location parameter. You should find 2 entries for USB Input Device with the same Location. These are the n52te (the d-pad is seen separately from the rest of the device).
It should look like this (the numbers are different for each n52te, as this is how devices are distinguished):

6. Choose Update Driver for both of the devices identified as the n52te and point it to this file:
C:\Program Files (x86)\n52te\Driver64\JmtFlter.inf
The load-out manager should now recognize the device as plugged in and allow you to load profiles.
The entries in the device manager should look like this:

Note:
Due to permission changes on the Program Files folders in windows 7, users must now be administrators to write to those folders. This is where the load-out manager keeps its profiles, so users using multiple profiles will either need to be admins or given permission to write to that folder specifically.

First let me say that I *love* the n52te and without it I am all thumbs, anymore; literally unable to play anything without it. I first bought one about 4 or 5 years ago for WoW, fell in love and never looked back except the one time I had to buy a new one. The stock cable was a little short, so I was always tugging on it and eventually caused it to short out.
When I bought the new one, I also bought a USB extension cord (you can probably see where this is going). On Vista (with or without the extension) it worked more or less fine (save the having to unplug and replug it on every boot issue). When I upgraded my old (and slower Gateway-phenom x4 9100e) system to Win 7, it still worked - extension cord and all (I did still have to go through the unplug/replug cycle, however).
However, the other day I did a major system upgrade to a phenom x6 1035t, new motherboard (which had usb 2.0/3.0 ports) and lots of other goodies. All I really left from the old system was the hard drive so I didn't lose all of my files/info/setup. Everything went without a hitch. My old HDD booted, looked for all the new drivers for everything, found them and all was right in the world.
Except... My (indispensable) n52te was not recognized! I tried installing all the different drivers, firmware and editors with no luck.
Grudgingly, took my extension cord out and viola. There was my n52te with the little blue side-light staring me in the face, again.
Mine is a pre-Razer (Belkin) version and the 2.x drivers and editor do not work, but I find the original versions very useful and have no more issues (except for a short cord!).
I hope this helps someone else!
ps- Even if you do not have an extension cord, but have it plugged up to a usb port on the front side of your case, you still may be facing a similar issue. Try plugging it directly to a usb port of the back, directly to the motherboard and see if that helps!

So are the other Nostromo brands no good? I'm thinking about buying one. I see Razer makes one, is it any good? What about the G13?

I have both the G13 and the n52te (aka Nostromo, slightly different but functions nearly 100% the same).
Go with the new razer version, imho. Likely to have support for a long time and to me it is a lot easier to use than the G13. Nostromo has less buttons but what it has is laid out better and feels better in the hand. Too many buttons gets a little confusing on something you are using without looking at it (my problem with the G13).
