View Full Version : What is the "shaman turret effect" in PvP?

Was just going over the cataclysm info from http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=10546328033&sid=1 - and I was wondering, what is the turret effect in PvP they're mentioning for shammies?

And also, boy would I like 4 goblins shamans + 1 dk for BG :P

Possibly the new buff to shaman, making the Fire Nova Totem actually a spell you can cast, making any fire totem you have down do AoE.

Turret effect is referring to how elemental shamans are forced to basically stand in 1 place, rotating back and forth.

Our relatively non-existant instant cast dmg compared to other casters.

It's a design problem really... You give us stationary totems (with limited range) and then want us to be mobile? Anyone see a problem here? I'm not really sure where they are going with this. We already have shocks on a short CD, do we need another insta cast? If thats the case then remove shock cooldown and make us another GCD spammer.

It's never been a huge problem for me.

I guess more mobility would be nice, but especially with the buff in dropping all four totems at once, I don't consider it a huge deal. I just drop my turret o' totems and unleash hell. It's funny how people will specifically follow you around for the protection you provide.

My last wintergrasp I was in. We were defending. Took over the two northern workshops and one of the southern ones, blew through the three towers with which still left 6 minutes remaining, and then we basically just pushed the horde back to their base spawn point and farmed HKs every 30 seconds when they'd raise.

It was totally hilarious. I love hearing boxing comments in general in wintergrasp. It usually starts off the same, with a few insults vs few people talking about how cool it is to do WG with me in the past. By the end, everyone is thrilled and talking about the five shaman team that's decimating. haha :D
