Northrend phasing lag

Just started doing Borean Tundra and I'm trying to do the trident quest. Everytime my 5man team enters the phasing zone my FPS is averaging 8-10 on all of my toons. I've got it set to run 60fps on the main and 15fps on the slaves and since getting to Northrend I've seen usually 45fps max on my main. I've got my shadows turned down and the 1x sampling and the ghost effect turned off. I didn't want to lower all of my settings because then what's the point of playing?

My question is this: Is there any specific setting that I should lower to help with the phasing lag?

There are certain phased areas in Northrend that are simply mucked up when boxing. I don't remember that area being particularly difficult on performance. Try deleting your game cache folder and see if that helps.
As always keep the game drive defragged, (unless you use an SSD) because WoW is not very tolerant of fragmented files.

Incredible timing! I actually turned down some settings...not by much mind you.. and deleted the cache folder. I was actually running at 60fps on my main again.. Thank you all for the help. I will probably go and turn off this fog because it doesn't really interest me.
