my team is pretty well geared with most conquest badge items and crafted gear, I farm the same old instances over an over but can't bring myself to go into them anymore: Grundrak/DTK/HoL/VH/UK. I've had a few days off and I just sit there in Dal and cbf to go to any of them. There's still the sword in UP I want but I've looked through all the loot on the 5 mans for instances I've never been to and that's the only thing I want from any of them. I'm not an achievement junky so I'm not concerned about going into other instances, but I am a gear junky lol. I guess it's HToC?

they don't have the valor badge shoulders/wrists but I can't see that the valor badge are that much better than the pvp ones or at least not 60 badges better

buy the bracers when you see them on AH, they usually go for 500-900g. Oh and hold off on farming, they may introduce a new heroic badge (like the sunwell stuff), so dont burn out now!

oh and do some PuG raids! Got quite a few upgrades for my tank on raids.

Trial of the Champion is your next destination.

Run it normal to get used to jousting and get your trinkets.
Then farm it on heroic for the tanking sword, and mace/dagger for the shammies. You could also consider farming Hadronox heroic for the Essence of Gossamar tanking trinket. Goes nice with the ToC trinket, especially if you are a sta junkie.

Thx Coyote - good call. I did CoS yesterday for the first time and it was a lot of fun, going for a timed run right now and hoping for a drake lol, need to put the fun back in the game and stop treating it like a job I guess :P

You could add 183 stam to your tank just by re-gemming and re-enchanting properly, with talents taht would put you way over 30k. Who needs 565 def :o

As another poster said, I'm also working through COS for the drakes for my team. Never got around to doing that before.

lol yeah - I'm a def junky - going to be regemming soon. I also have that nice stam trinket from brewfest that I can use instead of the pantheon one. I like having more def as it gives me more options with gear, I've been playing around with the battlemaster hit trinket and I think you caught my armory when I'd swapped it out giving me huge def

I did my timed run and finished in 17 mins, started looking for my reins and couldnt find them in the chest - raised a ticket with a gm.....I'm an idiot lol, didn't know the I had to kill the infinite corrupter to get them ha ha. Oh well, I'll try again today :)

edit: got it - woot! I read that the easiest way was to leave arthas at the other side of the town hall and just go there yourself - worked well and I had 3 mins left before I started the encounter with the infinite corrupter - nice :)

You're definitely ready to setup up to ToC. Between that and badges, you'll get about the best pre-raid gear you can get.

I was going to make the same comment. I'd recommend dropping some defense and pick up some +sta.

Looks pretty good otherwise. Good luck.

Another consideration...

In Cataclysm, which will be out sometime, every tanking class will have crit immunity from talents alone. So we won't need defense at all. It wouldn't hurt to have a decent stamina, armor, dodge, parry, block (whatever you use) set.

K thanks for all your advice guys, I re gemmed and also got the badge belt for the pally, now sitting at around 31.5k health unbuffed - pretty happy about that :) My shammies are pretty close to having 60 badges so I'll just bite the bullet and get them the valour shoulders or maybe just sell them - not sure lol. I farmed CoS and got everyone their drakes and it was handy having that extra bit of health on the tank because on the last run I pulled meathook too close to the team and the shammies died very quickly, meathook was at about 5% health at this stage and the pally managed to take him down by himself, it was a health loss race lol - without the extra health it would have been a wipe. Managed to rez the shammies and carry on with the instance and got the drake with 1 minute to spare

HToC is now on farm, completed this twice now with many deaths but my second run had half as many deaths as the first run, although difficult I now love this instance, managed to get a scarlet kris for one of my shammies on the first run and a two handed axe for my pally when he goes ret in pvp :)

As people have mentioned, farming heroic ToC is your best bet. The SP dagger, cloth shoes, mail shoulders, cloak and ring will be nice upgrades for you. Keep farming the daily quests for your T9 pieces. Once you have a most of the upgrades from ToC, you'll be fine to start running weekly VoA/Onyxia. I'd recommend starting these groups yourself at first. First, because if you try to join existing groups people have ridiculous standards even for the most basic raids. Second, because you can pick which classes to invite and group with people that wont compete for your loot :p

Side note.. best investments (IMO) for your first triumphs are .totem, shoulders, chest and helm, in that order. The reason I prefer to leave helm/legs/gloves till last are because those peces drop from Ony and VoA. It sucks when you spend 30 triumphs on something then get the same drop the next day.

You should also be running WG every time you can. It's a great source of honor, which you can use to gear out your characters with epic gems.
