So some people may or may not be doing this already, but ive found a way on my server to make a pretty hefty ton of cash.

Run a opposite faction bank alt, to the shared AH so you can trade ect with yourself. (make sure to get fp's).
I started selling just one argent pet from horde side, to the alliance. This was going for about 600g my side, to 1200g their side. I have since sold numerous pets and for a while have been just bouncing them back and forth.

--- Cute things sell! To many women around imo. Sell lambs, mechano peeps, mulgore hatchlings, broomsticks and stuff all have netted me good money. I have been selling for 1k bid, 1200 b/o sometimes +/- 100g on both with much success. Same goes for certain things you can look at, check alliance for enchanting mats or eternals or green gems can get good deals going both ways. Multiboxers are at an advantage since we can trade with ourselves using different accounts. Just watch trying to pass large amounts of gold through blackwater since their taxes are so high.

So in closing if you have not done this yet, look at selling pets between factions. So far ive netted about 10k gold doing this in just profit.

Also be careful of moving items too cheaply. There are people that use auction tools and snatch up anything lower than vendor price and certain other items lower than what they set as decent. I've lost some stacks of Primals in BC in under 2 seconds.

It helps to do a /who on the three goblin zones and look for obvious bank alts, i.e. low level characters.

Yup. When I transfer things. I do it one item at a time. Have the buyer search for the item once to see if there are any others on the AH and cache any results. Then put the item up with the buyout, have the mouse ready to click search again on the buyer, and then post it and search it again wtihin a second.

haha

My items are up on the AH for no more than about 1-2 seconds before I buy it. So unless it's a bot, I won't be sniped.

On my server there is a higher alliance pop and more high end alliance guilds, so since I'm horde most of the transfers are one way. So what I usually do is put the items up on the neutral AH for about 25% more than what it cost me on the ally AH. This helps keep my alliance bank alt flush with gold to keep buying things and also completely negates the problem of someone swooping the item from me.

Of course this is only worth doing for items that are at least 50% more expensive on the horde AH, but there are a few items like that, now and then. For a while there i was buying all the ally Nerubian Chitin(Nerubian Chitin) and selling them horde side for triple.

Yea i do that all the time as well but for some odd reason i dont have the ah alt or bot problems on my server. I always check to see if ne one is there on alliance and horde when i do it and always get nothing back in return. So i guess i get lucky that way. But i have yet to do the pets for the simple reason of i only have one character that can get the pets atm so im waiting till all my characters can aquire the pets and put in 5 at once.

Maybe it's pointless, but has anyone tried reporting the buyer/bot? Of course that takes time away from the game.

I can tell you that there are very few auction house "bots" now. Many people do run auctioneer which has a manual scanning feature. Considering it's one of the most downloaded addons its not surprising your stuff gets purchased soon. You can't really compare BC to now, security has changed a bit. If you just type in what your posting in your buying toon, post it search and purchase one at a time you really shouldnt have any problems. I check @ STV and purchase from Winterspring, most people wont go to tanaris for a shared AH. You can also try and open trade with people if they are on your same faction, this will let you know if they are opened on the auction house or not since it will deny your trade attempt.

To minimize gold spent on deposits and taxes lost, I try to move enchanting mats for stuff I need, or pets and stuff so there is minimal deposit and tax.

i thought about doing this, but like others have said the bots and ppl constantly scanning the AH is not a safe investment.

plus depending on server, most ppl if not all of the pet collectors have gotten the pets they need/want, so not really a good investment of champion seals, at least on my server..

enchanting and mining still rakes in the gold for me, plus the dailies of coarse :)

So why not just put the item up for sale you want to transfer but with a 2k price tag. Then it wont get snatched up. Its not like your actually spending the gold to buy it cause you could just do the same thing goin the opposite way to get the gold back.

The botters use an addon or piece of software that pushes the "buy" button for them. They're rarer now, because they're pretty much an instant permaban. I saw one working in Booty Bay, reported him, put him on my friends list, and he never came back - it was a level 70 Tauren, too, decked in pretty good raid gear.

A couple of top raiders get booted, word spreads fast.

What I'm seeing lately is a LOT of gold being transferred, white items listed for 5k, 10k, last weekend there was a grey item listed for 10k. All the same people, too - I've reported them as suspected gold accounts for sellers, but they're still there - they're probably watching them to get the others who they deal with.

I think they're cracking down on ore botters, too, I'm seeing prices rise, less of it available, and I'm actually seeing nodes in WG and Storm Peaks and IC. I actually got a titanium node Sunday, I never even SEE those anymore.

This worked like a charm when i got back to the game (2 weeks after pet launch) - But now the pets are 400-450g on Horde, and rarely sell for more then 650g on Alliance on my server (Grim-Batol EU)

Also, it's rather hard to sell pets these days. I guess those who want them, got em already.

I have not found this to be true on Hyjal at least, nor did I find it so on destromath. Sold another yesterday bought a sproutling for 350g alliance sold it on horde for 1200.

7 alchemists and 7 tailors plus 5 JCs work for me as safe daily income :)
Don't even do dailies anymore

200g per gem for 60g invested(eternal fire+ruby) plus procs, 9 gems a day average
390g per 3 cloth transmutes for about 95g invested every 3 days
500g a day for zero money invested(dragons eyes quest pays for itself)

I think stuff like this is completely server dependent. Pets still sell very well on Madoran on both sides.

As far as Neutral AH Sniping, I've done countless transactions without losing anything. So maybe we're just lucky and don't have as many people doing this.
