Im curious, when you fraps, you get the one window you activate it from and thus loose the 2 top ones, and you cannot start fraps in all 3 windows as far as I understand. So my question is, is there any way to record all 3 windows to make som really sweet multibox movies?

Use maximizer and get a recording program that you can record selected windows like the whole Main window of your computer? Make Sense?

Actually, playing the game windows in windowed mode might allow a program like Camtasia to do this, good suggestion, I'll have to look into that.

Most people don't know this but VLC is actually an amazingly powerful, free player AND transcoder. It can rip raw video, like FRAPS but full screen. If you want to play AND real time encode it, you need a beefy PC. Like a quad core.

You will want to record screen:// (file, open file, screen://).

To save it, click save/stream, click save to file, give it a full path, select raw encapsulation and presto. A really big, uncompressed file, just like FRAPS, etc. You can evoke it with hotkeys, access recording over the net or your lan, modify it, crop it, take shots over time, evoke it with a command line, multicast, etc, etc.

Another semi useful guide:

Also, read the manual. Seriously. It's all there.

What is the quality that you get out of VLC compared to others such as Fraps Xzin?

I think in the end, the end-user can only download a relatively small video, and trying to fit 3 windows into one may just ruin your resolution or file size, so unless you want to just record and watch your own videos, a video with all 3 windows visible would be way too large to actually be practical.. plus they show the exact same thing, why not just FRAPS one window, and it can show all 3 toons since they are right on each other.

do we lose anything by Ellay's videos of his shamans? we see them all, wouldn't make it any better if we could see his 4 screens, would it? hehe

good idea, but not very practical unfortunately

Interesting that you ask this now. I had a play with this over the weekend, FRAPsing on four machines, stitching them together in Vegas 8, and it works surprisingly well.

If I ever capture anything worth replaying, I'll post something. But for most encounters, previous posters are right - seeing the fight from various angles doesn't add much beyond a different angle of the back of the characters' heads ;)

As high as you would like, from raw to HIGHLY compressed.
