It isn't fast, requires a small amount of hacking about and costs $400+ but it *IS* possible. Amazing how a PC can come out in the $200 - $400 range that is somewhat comparable to a $2200 laptop I imported perhaps 4ish years ago. In some ways better, as the Eee has no spinning hard drive!

ok... Im confused.

Wow takes 8 gigs of hd space, and windows xp probably at least a gig.

With that machine, even the top end one according to the wiki is 8gigs max... how did you manage that?

As Gary Coleman says "Whacha talkin bout willis!"

USB HDD / Memstick?

The internal flash memory is kind of slow with lots of small file operations anyways.

I purchased an eee when they first came out in the UK (got it within 3 minutes of them being sold o/). I have wondered about installing WoW on it but as for now I think my actual pc's do the job fine.

However like you say it's amazing what "can" be done with so little money.

there is some slim version of xp (Called "preformnce edtion") sorta made by hackers, its around 150mb of hd space and use less then 100mb ram while working, but, sp0 and lacks majorty of fuchers that xp has, yet if all you want is to run things... :P

You "hack" WoW to run from an external drive.
