Hey, So i recently wanted to "Dual/Multi-Box"
I've just started off by linking my main account to a RAF Account -
I bought "Keyclones" and it was very usefull But im kinda confused.
I've picked Paladin (Main account) Priest(Off account)
I wanted the paladin to pick off mobs easy and the priest just to Heal so theres not much downtime (With a little DPS ofc)
I've looked around and coudn't find a guide on Macros ect.

I wanted to know -

Is Pally/Priest Good combo?
What macros are needed?
Any Tips/Advice?
What addons?

Im useing Keyclone and TwoBoxToolkit(Which is kinda annoying because i get spammed alot by the Off account)

Ps; This is a trial i want to cheak if its fun and Really good, I will probably be upgrade the RAF account just to get a few 60s And if i like Just 2x Boxing i may go further and make more accounts, Yes i am a totally Nooby to this :p

I hope you can help in Anyway - I am new so Anything that you say will help me :D

1. Play what you enjoy. That being said take a look at shamans. They can do a lot of work automatically with totems, they can heal, they can nuke, they can self rez, they can rez others, and they wear mail. Pally/Shaman is a strong combo but play what you are going to have the most fun with.

2. Macros are never quite finished. Some basic macros you will need is a /follow macro for you off account. You want a macro to assist your tank and or heal your tank. You want to work on /click sequences to maximize DPS.

3. My advice is to just do 5 toons.

4. A lot of people like jamba. I use Titan, Onebag, Questhelper, Auctioneer, CT_Raid, Deadly Boss Mobs and some others I cannot think of right now.

Take a look at the wiki/stickies you will find a lot of good info there.

Good luck and happy boxing.

definitely 2nd the recommendation for jamba. I can't imagine multiboxing without it.

It's fun to test it out with trail accounts. I can't even remember how many accounts I've left with 1 toon on them at level 20. But the trial account restrictions do get kinda annoying. Just simple things - because you never loot with your slave, you never have any money on your slave, so it starts getting diffucult to buy things - even simple spell upgrades get spendy. But it's still fun.

If you are just doing 2 accounts to play with, I wouldn't worry too much about getting macros perfect yet. That can be a skill all to itself. But for level 1-20 I just make all my spells hard coded. You get a new ability every level or two anyway, so you'll be redoing your macro's and "rotation" pretty often early on anyway.

#showtooltip
/cast [target=focustarget] <spellname>

That'll get you started assuming you have something macro'd that does /focus main. I just set my ~ key to /target <main>; /assist; /folow.

about 1/2 if not 3/4 of your time early on is figuring out how to make it all work for you. That's half the fun though and trial accounts are a great place to test things out without spenidn any real money.

I'd recommend the "No Focus Manifesto" as your assist method.
Go with the Jamba addon, that makes boxing so much better.

Basically, with two toons, this is very simple.
The no-focus-manifesto will be more useful with 3 or more toons.

Essentially, you have a targeting order, where each living toon targets others in the order you specify.
With only two toons, you'd just have each toon target the pally and follow the pally.

With the priest as your healer, it's probably easiest to just assist heal.
Assuming you go with a hotkey on each to target and follow the paladin...
The priest will need something like this (and a version for other heals like Flash Heal, Greater Heal/Penance etc):
/cast [target=targettarget,help] Renew; [target=targettargettarget,help] Renew
Since the Priest is targeting the Paladin, you have them cast at the Paladin's target if that is friendly.
If that condition fails, then you try to cast at the target of the paladin's target, which is probably one of your toons.

The Paladin will eventually go with a "96969" macro (forum search for it) if you're going Protection.
If you're going Retribution, I'm not sure how your macro's will be, but the search feature is your friend still.

I'd either have the Pallies DPS key on two buttons...
And the priest have a DPS key only only one of those...
Could be something like:
/castsequence [target=targettarget] reset=target Shadow Word: Pain, Devouring Plague, Holy Fire, Mind Blast, Smite
Or whatever you desire. You could go with a more complicated macro using a /Click Castsequence.

Alternatively, put the priest DPS on the same key as the Pally (who has only one DPS key), but include a modifier on the priest.
That way the priest only DPS's as well, if the mod key is pressed.
/castsequence [mod:alt, target=targettarget] reset=target Shadow Word: Pain, Devouring Plague, Holy Fire, Mind Blast, Smite
