Pit of Saron (PTR - Heroic)

I have my whole team on the u.s. ptr right now, the disconnects are terrible, i havent stayed on for more than about 4 minutes.
Slowly i managed to get to first boss, 4 man it, since one shaman cant connect for some reason.
From what I saw in two pulls that lasted maybe 30seconds, with really bad lag and fps around 5

-Has 612k hp

-he has a stacking debuff(increases frost damage taken), not sure how to get rid of it, i think it might be based on distance to the boss, not sure. I will have that figured out if servers permit

--boss has pulsing frost aura(edit:seems like thats whats stacking the debuff), does decent aoe damage, affected by stacking debuff.
-there is adds, attacking adds aggros the boss, they are part of the encounter(6 or 7)

- He throws huge boulder at one person, you need to move...fast

Ive got him to 26% with 4 toons, and without having good understanding of whats going on, i didn't use any premades, just my own toons, premades are very well geared(but where is the fun in using fully geared toon).
Im pretty sure that in 1-2 more pulls, without having 5 fps, and with full team i can get it :D

^thats just the first boss, second boss is bugged, and you can solo it atm

Got him, just healed through the damage, he should be a cake with 5 man team.(had to 4 man him)

ps. My tank is pretty geared, has over 50k hp party buffed, there is constant aoe damage, so not only tank but your team should have decent hp(i have some pvp pieces).

boss no 2 down, just strafe, really easy. I didnt even heal(they should buff him)

Epic! lots of fun!
First you chase the boss up to the top of the hill, not to spoil this, but how does hodirs falling ice wit gauntlet sound? thats right, you run through a cave, which is a gauntlet, and there is ice falling all over, fun!

Now for the actual boss, seems hard, lots of stuff going on.
-Starts the fight mounted on top of his frostwyrm, wyrm has 500+k hp, just need to attack the wyrm until about 60%, than the rider dismounts. Rider has 1 mil hp.
-Summons add
-Does ton of damage
-Wyrm does frost spikes on the ground need to move
-run back sucks

That's all i know so far, i think i will need my full team to do this, im missing my best geared dps.


edit. I dc'ed and cant get back in, tried for long time, and had no luck :(
tyvm blizzard for resetting the instance after i got one pull on last boss, maybe i will have more luck tomorrow.

May i ask, did you notice if the gauntlet dmg was affected by frost resistance? I can see this gauntlet ruining multibox already...Hoping not tho :)

I took zero damage from the falling ice, its really easy to avoid, i wouldnt worry too much about it, packs before the gauntlet can be brutal thought.
I will try to run some more after i get back from work, I'm loving the final boss, i want moreeeee!

I was one of the first to get my toons transfered, but have not been able to keep a level 80 logged in for more than 1 minute, if at all. ( premades nor copied ) I can make level 1 of any race and stay on for a longtime. I am DIEING to check this place out hehe!

Last Boss:
I concur on the loads of damage on the last boss, never got him down. I did clear the other two with out much effort. The 5 packs leading to the cave were annoying mainly due to the fact that they are spread out so much the most you can taunt/shield on a pull is 2, then I waited to pull the remaining three off my followers. 4 are undead so maybe a start off with an exorcism, taunt, shiled. I am sure it will get easier, just watch those dots!

I did notice some curse he put on one of my team, something like all damage you do to Boss will be done to the target of Boss. I could not cleanse it so I figured it must be a curse.

I also noticed you get adds coming in from the cave you just ran through, so don't stand too close to it or they will all come after you. My last attempt, my hole group appeared to get ice blocked.... I gave up after that since the realm seemed to be lagging more and more.

Random stuff:
Oh and some of the slaves will help you fight if you click on them, most just say thanks and bail, but some do help for a few minutes. Finally, I found nothing of interest in the pit! But boy I wish I could mine those nodes.

spread your team by the closed door(not the cave), and quickly focus heal the person that gets iceblocked, its a lot of damage(that's how my tank died on the kill, i didn't heal him i just kept dpsing the boss)

If I had to guess on the ilevel of the 5 man drops I would probably look at the details below.

after completing forge of souls, quest-line send me to this instance.
heroic mode.
at start instance trash is easy.
1st boss is not easy for 5 melee: he launch that damned saronite rocks and his debuff/aoe hit hard.
wiped 3 times, at 4th he gone down. tryed to hide my group behind the saronite rocks for mitigate group dmg, worked better.
2nd boss requires constant movement for 5 melee: i left here, impossible perform decent attempts with average latency >500. looks doable, maybe easier then 1st one in normal latency conditions.

decently, 3/5 basic tier 9, toc heroic weapons, tank have wrist/feet from totc recipes. no raid drops items in the whole group. using some lvl 200 items, typical heroic/badges gear.

Been playing 5 paladins (sometimes 4 rets and a DK) and that 3rd boss on heroic is brutal. The goop he puts on the ground every 5 seconds ticks for 9k and its quite diffcult while straffing to keep dps on the boss. I'm just using the premades so the characters are geared up nicely. Every other boss up to that guy has been a breeze.

If i get time i might dual spec one holy and try that out. I also need to hope for lower latency as the response time on the server means i eat 2 ticks of the goop.

Holy shit 9k per tick?! Thats just wrong, how often does he put it out? I really dont want another Colossus(elemental guy in Gundrak) type encounter that is super anti-melee.

He has several abilities that you have to run from, so its not just the goop making him so difficult. He does a poison nova that is brutal so you gotta run from that, he also marks a random party member and chases them so yet again you gotta run. He also does some ability that makes the ground under you explode for mucho damage so you guessed it, you run again.

The goop he puts down at regular intervals, its hard to get any dps on him at all using all melee and I'm at a loss as to how i can get passed him using an all melee group.

He makes the collosus in gundrak look like a push over.

Update on Ick.

My all paladin group downed him but it took me quite abit longer then Niley's shamans. With the PTR giving me a much lower latency tonight I could strafe out of 3/4 of the goop puddles before they would do any dmg to me (or i would be back peddling while DPSing before the goop dropped to keep me out of it).

I did use bubble and a heal pot but I think i just need more practice with my strafing a group of dudes exactly the same and not get them all over the place.

OMW to the last boss now to see how that goes.

Finally got back on the PTR today.

Ick was still a pita but downed him after resetting him twice. Last boss was surprisingly easy considering how hard Ick was for my 5 pally team. Strafe a couple times, make sure to divine storm every cooldown and throw FoL as art of war procs. He drops a nice tanking sword if you dont raid. Ilevel 232.

I think having some PVP gear helped alot for the extra HP's My rets are sitting around 28k with kings. Quel delar helped too i suppose, nice dps weapon for an hour and half work questing.

Now off to Halls of reflection to see how hard this will be heroic for my melees.

okay, so this last boss is soo hard lol! i wipe on him constantly cause i'm trying to watch raid warnings about who is being "watched" or whatever and stop them from dpsing and then also watch for who gets targetd by the frost wyrm and also watch for the uber power buff you have to find the nearest ice patch to kite boss through, it's so damn crazy!
i saw your door theory, i'll have to try it, but it's pretty tough, i'm not sure how you can see all that and react at once. I'm sure your dps is way higher thna mine too.

overall i love the fights, some are tough as hell for 5 boxers for sure but it's a blast.
