So currently i run 2 accounts on 1 machine. Right now i have 8 chars that have there banks full of random stuff on both accounts, and a Guild bank with 2 tabs full of junk thats a bit more valuable than then junk in the normal banks.

Right now i use Arkinventory for my bag addon, and i absolutely love the ability to customize the bars for different things and how i can just look at an items tooltip to see if i have that item on another char. Thing is that it only shows chars on that account, which i understand why, but is there an addon with the functionality of Arkinventory or should i look into making some form of program that reads the Arkinventory data file and copys the info from each accounts file to the other? or has someone already done this

At the moment there isn't much organization to the storage other than 1 char stores all the meat and the GB tab 1 stores rare+ equipment and other rare+ items, and GB tab 2 turned into a "throw everything into it for the moment", though it was originally for storing ore.

I'm a bit of a packrat, in fact the guild is called The Packrats Lair, and i have 2 offical banker chars, though one is busy hitting 80

(just noticed i posted in the wrong forum, sorry)

I use 2 addons for inventory management. I prefer addons with a single purpose. I'm not a fan of addons that try and accomplish 900 things.

The first is Bagnon, pretty simple, it's just a "all in one" bag addon - very small, does only what I want.

The second is Mr. Plow. It organizes your bags on the press of 1 button. You can add exceptions (for example, I like my harthstone, tabards, etc at the bottom). You can also tell it to ignore particular bags.

This won't help your "view other characters inventory" issue, but then again I tend to post first, read more thoroughly later and I ramble.

Combuctor
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/combuctor.aspx

Stop what your doing and try this addon. I dont waste time writing about something unless its realy awesome. I used Arkinventory too but i hated the way it took up the whole screen, It was time consuming to rig up the way you want it. And most importantly it was hard to get it looking uniformly the same across all toons. Of course now i know i could have just copied the arkinventory config file across all my accounts.

Combuctor has the bank/alt/ viewing of bagon. It has a small footprint and all the items are in one bag or (panel). It doesnt take up your whole screen. It uses bagon to see your bank items and other characters items so if you see bagon still checked off in your UI manager that is intended. You can download more filters plugins like trash items. First thing you should do is go into the config and turn on all the filters. This is like Arkinventory but simple and dummy proof. You can sort by type and further filter (if desired) by quality. A great complimentary addon for your Trashman, Proffession, or Auction Toons. It also has a text field that allows you to search by item name just like Arkinventory and Baggon. If you have a Speacialtiy bag like a Soulstone Bag you can set it up to not show any of those soulstones. The Soul Bag will have a number on it to show at a glance how many stones you have.

Another thing like MrPlow is the addon BankStack it runs a little script and reorganizes your bag for you. I really like it.

I done a quick search on the interwebz and came across altaholic. That might do what you need. I've not tried it yet as I'm at work, if you do try it, make a post....I'd be interested in something that does this too.

Altoholic is very nice. It allows you to share everything in your bank, guild bank and inventory across accounts. It also allows you to search. For example, I can enter "Runecloth" in the search and see I have 7 in my Main's bags, 3 in the bags of an alt on my main account, 5 in the bags of a toon on another of my accounts and it also lists the recipes that my tailor {also another account} has with "runecloth" in the name.

You can also look at any tradeskill on any toon in your guild, money, talents, guild banks, regular banks, gear, specs, glyphs...pretty much anything. Oh, it'll also tell you when cooldowns are about to expire for things like transmutes and instance locks.

It's not exactly lightweight, and updating can take a while if you're sharing a lot of information {you must share manually, it won't auto-update}. and I don't think there's anything you can do to customize it, but it's a very easy interface to use and has so much information it's kinda daunting.

So to keep what's in bags/bank up to date, you need to do the manual update everytime you play a certain toon?

Across accounts. I believe it auto updates information on the same account. So Acct 1 will always have all the valid information for all alts {that have been logged in} on that account. Same with the main on Acct2 and so on.

To get the information from Acct 2 on to Acct 1, you have to share it over. I do it once every few days when I'm taking a flight or waiting on daily resets. Unless you have huge and constant turnovers of items, there's not really much need to do it all the time.
