Grats!
I ding'd 22 yesterday as well and grinded another 75% out. It's getting fun now, haha. :p
I don't know if you've looked at the statistics, but currently there's no one that's reached level 41-50, and only a handful of people (percentage wise) that have even gotten beyond level 30 across all realms.
You can check your realm out here: http://na.aiononline.com/livestatus/server/ , by using the "Select Another Server" option on the top right of the page.
Must keep grinding....

Solo on my Ranger to 19 so far. Feel like I've hit this little bump between zones. Not quite ready for the next zone, but nothing exciting in the old one. I'll likely grind out the level, but just feels off pace. Add to that new spells and my rotation feels funny.
I'm not sure how the other classes are in terms of progression, but the Ranger feels like I am learning a new class every three levels. It might be that we don't get ranged until 10, and then no chain until 16, whereas other classes don't change their playstyle much after accession. Not sure since my other characters are all 10 or lower. Thoughts?
Oh, and saw Rin this afternoon, was cool to have someone recognize my name ;)

Ding'd 23 last night, and saw Souca while I was flying around Eltron :)...
I'm now grinding on to 24, baby

Ding 2 x 23 lvl Sorcerer yesterday.
Had 2 bar to ding to lvl 23. Took about 20 minutes grinding. Got to 23 did 30 min of questing (about 6 quests), which got me to 20% of a lvl and ran out of quests again. Grinded about 2 hours and only got up to 65% of a lvl. During this grind fest i was thinking would solo be faster. When i was thinking that a solo person came into my grind spot and started grinding. The time it took him to kill 1 mob i was about to kill 2.5 so boxing didn't slow me down too much grinding. I also read that Asmodians have the worse questing area, and you have to grind 75% of each lvl up to lvl 35, where there are more quests. I have read a post saying to get to 49 to 50 it is like 40 days of solid grinding. I don't mind grinding, but to grind 75% of each lvl is kind of getting old. So during my grind I was thinking about quieting this game. The last 4 lvls i had to grind 75% of the lvl and each one getting longer and longer. So i am either doing something wrong or this game is all about 3 hour grinds to lvl and i am not spending 40 days to get from 49 to 50.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong; I think that the grinding is intentional. It only gets worse post level 25. I would also agree with you that about 20% of each level can be done through quests, while the other 75% needs to be grinded out. You do have the option though of going between Eltnon Forest (sp?) and the desert zone (starts with a T, can't remember the name) to do quests. However, if you do decide to take that route, just remember that you'll probably run out of quests at around level 28 (since you'll be completing quests in both zones), so you'll need to grind up to 30 (fun!!).
The main issue with the questing system (as you also pointed out), is that you're given a handful (probably 6-10?) of quests that give 10k to 60k exp, but you need over 2 million exp to level. From what I've seen in the 20s, typically you only get about 200k exp outside of the campaign quests, and then another 150k for the campaign. That brings you up to about 350k (of course you could do all of the campaign quests at once to earn more exp, but eventually you're going to be screwed and out of quests), so in essence, you're only making about 20% of the level via questing, while the 80% needs to be grinded out.
I've just made it my deal to grind 250 of x-creatures (solo I clear about 7k exp per kill) every time I log on so that I can ensure myself that I'll get at least half a level. I figure every 15 kills or so is roughly 5% of a level, and I can do roughly 15 kills in 15 minutes solo. I tried grouping up with one of my guildmates and grinding out things, but I found that it was more effective to grind solo. With my guildmate (he's a templar) I was earning about 3.5k per kill and was not killing at 2x speed. I'm starting to see it taking about 4-5 hours to gain a level, and this seems to be "on pace", per se.
I try not to group unless I'm killing stuff that's going to require that I spend 1 minute sitting between each kill because I need to heal.
Best of luck to you!

A heavy grind in a Korean video game? This is a new concept for sure.
With that said I hope you guys are enjoying it.

Haha :) ... Actually, I was hoping that I would have to grind even more. It just takes me back to my old EverQuest days where it would take 55-60 hours per level near the "end-game" (quests were virtually non-existent).
I think this game is great for solo play (and perhaps even dual-boxing). I went out and bought 6 copies of the game and have only opened two. I'll be returning the other 4 this week, because there's no way in hell i'd want to try and 6 box this. Similar level regular (non-elite) npcs only give about 600-700 exp each (sometimes less) if you're in a party of 6. Just guesstimating, it would probably take the better half of 40 actual /played days to ding 6 x 50 (in that amount of time I could level and raid gear another 15 WoW characters; and I already have 10- lol). I sure as hell don't have the time, energy, or effort to invest that much in this game. I'll be cheering for anyone here whos up for that challenge though.

When you announce a ding; at least post the link to your character, like:
http://na.aiononline.com/characters/Vaizel/Aria
http://na.aiononline.com/characters/Vaizel/Moorea
(use "permalink" from the result of search or "my character" screen)
On other topic I call bullshit on the "grind fest" people keep ranting about
