View Full Version : Faction Change Issues???

So I decided to dig up some of my little 70's that hadn't been played in about a year. I have an orc shammy and tauren hunter on Dragonblight. Thought I would play some AV since it gives experience now. I guess I missed the really good EXP, but I have been taking a month or so off to celebrate my 4 year WoW anniversary.
So anywho, seems like the hordies in my battlegroup get their butt beat too often, so I decided that I would spend the money and try out the Faction Change. Logged in on both accounts on the website and initiated it.
45 minutes later, it was done on one account. Not done on the other. 4 hours later, still not done, so I cancelled and restarted it. Well, now 2 days later, still not done on the second account, and it locks the damn character so you can't even play it.
Has anyone else had issues like this???
So now, I am considering just cancelling the faction change on the second toon and attempting to "dual box multi-faction in AV" ... Has anyone else tried such a silly thing??? I figured it might give me a couple hours of amusement to meet myself and then chase myself around the field with my /keepfollow addon.
Yes, I do realize that I am crazy! :D

Might have been an issue with billing, same credit card 2x in a row, but im sure others have done the same, and more all at once without issue. I'd give them a call.
And i'm not sure its a good idea to kill yourself.... someone was dual box killing themself in Halaa the other day farming something.... Might be an exploit?
Also, i just noticed, you already have 2 80 shammies, why pay that money to transfer over a 70 shammy to the same acct? Maybe time to triple box :)

Yes, it is an exploit, it's win trading. The likelihood of being caught, /shrug.

Their ears must have been burning with me talking bad about them... It is complete now... Only problems is that it was a rainy weekend so the one that went through quick is now 1.5 levels ahead of it's partner...

What is this addon ? I never heard of a way to follow a mob or opposite faction and I doubt it would be legal ? or am I dense and you can actually /follow a horde player when alliance and vice versa ? (I guess I never actually tried - just expect it wouldn't work...)

Only problem I had was that my Shadowforge key disappeared and I couldn't accept the quest again. Sent in a ticket and they sent me the key in the mail, was really happy they handled it so simply. Some of the weird things though are all to do with quests. I am listed as having the 1500 quest achievement, but only having 1013 quests completed. Faction quests get dropped after conversion, so you get to do things like open up shadow vault and Icecrown dailies again, which can be good if you want the gold, or annoying if you don't want to spend the time. I have two of the quest rewards from one of Tharassian's quests now.

I had the same thing on my rogue. I have the '2000 quests completed' achievement, I was actually at about 2900/3000 for 'Seeker', now after the transfer I'm down to 950/3000 completed on the 'Seeker' achievement. Sigh. I'll probably never get that one done.
Also, my Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor Loremaster achievements are now at like 50-100 quests complete out of 700 required. YIKES! Same with all the outland zones, many of them I was within 5-10 quests of the zone quest achievement, now I'd have to do the entire damn zone over again to get the achievement...
And my 100 Dalaran Cooking Awards achievement got reset to 0/100, even though I was at 97/100 before.
And my armory of achievements still lists alliance achievements for me, although in-game it shows the proper horde achievements. It also fails to list some achievements as complete that do show up as complete in-game, example "Our Daily Bread" (complete all five Dalaran daily cooking quests). In-game I have alot more of my Cooking achievements done than what the armory shows...

I really dig the resetting of all quests (well except the loss of achievements). It's nice to go through the same zone again when you know the flow of the questing. Makes for fast leveling. Although some weird things do happen, for example my 66 warrior that I transferred had hellfire peninsula quests reset, but not all of them. Randomly he wont be able to take a quest the other slaves are on.
