Ok, so despite my recent completion of Glory of the Hero (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=24912) , I really REALLY want a Headless Horseman mount for my Paladin. I got extremely lucky last year and got one for my original Hunter (before I found all you multiboxing psychos!), and now I want one for my Paladin who has pretty much become my main.

I know the thing is rare as fudge, so I want as many summons as humanly possible.

So I RAF'd a whole bunch of characters to 60 back when I first started all this, and I have a huge pool of classes to choose from for a team composition.

I just want to know what would be the absolute fastest way to level them to 75+. Should I instance-boost them with my 80 Paladin? Battlegrounds? Quests? Once I decide on which ones I'm leveling up, I'll buy the 10% XP bonus shoulders with my hundreds and hundreds of Stone Keeper shards.

I've got just under 3 weeks!!!!! HELP!!!!!

step 1, go buy +10%xp shoulders and chest and if you are feeling ducky a BoA weapon.
step 2, go quest. Do not pvp, do not check AH, do not grind mobs. Just quest.
step 3 buy flyers at 60
step 4 buy cold weather tome at 68
step 5 buy epic flying (if you can afford it)
step 6 ????
step 7 profit

I did this solo on a rogue and I am basically 3 days played and about to ding 80.
edit: did 60-79 in less than one weekend (I played all day at work, 12hours a day ;) )

Do not PVP. I did the pvp grind from 71 to 80 now i am broke as a joke and my team has not so good gear.

I'd say quest 60-71 (HFP, Zang and Nagrand will get you to 68; Northrend 68-71);
AV after 71 (and questing while you wait for queue to pop)

as others said if you can (need badges) do get the chest in addition to the shoulders
do get flying, epic flying and then northrend flying if you have the gold

I will agree to disagree….

Yes; I did the AV grind from 72-80 and was indeed broke.

Every quest that I missed out on now yields roughly 2(x) the gold reward; my girls have sufficient funds for their needs, we have now successfully cleared ToC (normal) and are busily working their way to open up the other dailies…

AV was far faster for me as I did not have the epic flyers, and fortunately for me at the time queue times were around 45 sec between battles. Not sure now if AV is a viable way for FAST xp; however I would not hesitate to do it all again with a new team as the gold farm waiting for you at 80 seems worth it to me.

I will go out on a ledge here and say no matter how fast you think you are leveling in AV, questing is faster. I have done both, prenerf AV. Prenerf AV was close to questing, but if you have done the northrend questing on a team before you know what to do and it is faster than pvping. Post nerf I guarantee that questing will always beat AV, no question in my mind. Plus you will hit 80 with about 3k gold per toon if you dont ever buy anything from the AH.

You wanted the fastest way and I told you the fastest =P

Now if you want about 3-4 pieces of Deadly when you ding 80, well then PvP.

This is what i am doing now. My locks are stationed in nagrand lvl 65 atm. I que for av then go quest i can kill nething and i mean nething out there even did durn lol what a pansy with 5 vws and 20+ dots. Then as i quest out there when it pops i run to a safe spot real fast then go in get honor exp and take a pve break. Then back out que and quest again. I mix it up with av and questing just so i can lvl and get honor. Each lock has something like 5k kills in one week which is basically 40 hrs total play time for me and 20k honor. Doesnt seem like alot but hey when i hit 80 imma be able to have like 4-5 pieces already plus i already have 5 necks 5 rings 5 weps and 5 offhands oh yea and 10 trinkets made. So im all set. Im not to worried about the halloween stuff atm i want all my accounts to have every character 80 for next year then ill go ahead and grind hh for ever. So my advice just get one team to 75+ and concentrate on them for now. Then get the rest to 75+ next year. My goal is to have my locks druids ( dks already 80) shamans and oddballs 70+ to 80 before exp pack so i can play with the worgen class and have fun with them. Cant leave open ends this time OCD will not allow it.

^ I am enjoying the split leveling between quest and AV/bgs. Its a nice change of pace of either full AV grinding or quest/instance grinding.

I just want to know what would be the absolute fastest way to level them to 75+.
poster- this is how i did it.

I just want to know what would be the absolute fastest way to level them to 75+.
poster 2- i think this is the best way to make gold.

I just want to know what would be the absolute fastest way to level them to 75+.
poster 3- don't you want pvp gear?

I just want to know what would be the absolute fastest way to level them to 75+.
poster- i had more fun doing it this way.

lol

Ok my opinion. Quest. Skip collection quests that don't have 100% drop rates. Post nerf pvp experience is HORRIBLE. Worth it for honor but you're not even taking these guys beyond 75 let alone bothering to gear them. Instance boosting is decent if you have rest experience. Start at HFP and move on to Zangaramarsh as soon as you can. Keep the graveyard and towers capped in Zangara for the zone bonus. Move on to Nagrand and whatever other zone you're thoroughly knowledgable with, whether it be Blades Edge or Terrokar. Leave to Northrend the moment you hit 68 and do all of Borean, then go do HF. If you're still not 75 when you finish both of those zones, move on to Grizz hills.

You're not going to get more than one team to 75 before Headless Horseman farming.

So basically what I gather is, Questing is faster. I was just kind of hoping BG XP was just as fast, or hell, i'd accept slightly slower, because I've done the whole questing thing MANY times, and wasnt really psyched about doing it again. I like what one person said about Queuing up for AV then go questing until it pops up.

Well, for any NEW teams, I know. I already have 6 level 80s, and my wife will be contributing her 80 Mage. I'm just hoping to get 4-5 more to 75+ so I can have an upwards of 12 attempts a day for the 14 days, giving me 168 total attempts, if my math is correct. If i cant get a mount or two with that many attempts, I quit!!!!

What is the droprate on the headless horseman's mount? Does anyone know.

I, too, am trying to get another 5 team up to snuff before the event, so I can have 15 summons a day. If I get my Druids to 80 fast enough, I may work on my mages and try to get them 5 levels, too.

According to wowhead, its a .3% drop rate: The Horseman's Reins

But I question the accuracy of this because like I said, I got one with my Hunter after 3-4 days last year, and I see tons of people with them on my server.

Just do the group kill quests while waiting for AV, and the easy ones like kill X of Y monster. AV leveling will make up the difference.

Thanks!

wowhead, and any other similar site, are blocked for me at work, so I can't look it up. Hopefully that's false information, however, as I'd really hate to think about the % chance to drop, given that the kodo/ram are showing up at around 1.3%, as far as I can recall.

If it's .3%, then even with 15 summons a day, there's a good chance I won't see it drop. I did see one drop last year, so I'm hoping I'll see more this year.

BG exp was fast, before the nerf. Now it's half the speed of questing IF you actually have instant queues, but you don't because they split the levelers from the 80's brackets (i'm happy there's an 80 tbqh). Also, there's the problem of the boss npc's being set for level 80's, so most games end up being 30 minute reinforcement blunders.

If you have 20% exp bonus from heirlooms you have a close chance to make two teams to 75 if you play a lot. Stock up on the mountain dew.

If they change the npc levels in AV, you might be able to consider pvp leveling again.
