My new desk i just built

My computer was in the kids playroom downstairs, well i moved it upstairs and built this so the kids can play downstairs without messing with it. i still have to paint it an stuff

Thanks for all the feedback guys. i had the idea few years ago just never went through with it. It does have an internal lock and as you can see im pretty thin so i dont get that hot inside. however i do plan on putting in a fan. As far as the wife is concerned she likes it. it puts me back upstairs where i can still be social while i play. i do plan on painting it and making it look more like a real piece of furniture or whatever. Any ideas are appreciated though. i still gotta tweak the part where my keyboard sits. it folds up and the leg folds in so i can get in and out easy.

Guessing you live in EU, the land of notably more compact housing... personally I wouldn't fully enclose anything like that, but I'm 6'2" and 350lbs, big guys don't like small places!

I do like that when finished it will allow you to have the mancave gear without the mancave wiring sprawl being out and visible to the entire front room!

I would be afraid to have a desk like that, I'm pretty positive my wife would find a way to lock me inside and disconnect the computer, till I mowed the lawn :P

great Idea, but I doubt that the social things work, when you are in a boss fight and your wife starts talking to you .... been there, done that, dumped her after a wipe.... :)

My wife is pretty cool as long as she gets her time, shes a stay at home mom so she doesnt work at all (except wife things around the house). so she doesnt say anything when i come home from work and play for an hour to unwind. I just get on do a heroic and a couple dailies and log.

your comment made me think of a computer case that you actually go inside, how cool would that be !! granted you wouldnt want to take any drinks in but still could be pretty awsome with some pretty lights and stuff.

You could always get your fan in there put sheetrock on the outside make it match the walls then make a folding seat on the outside of it so it looks like a wall with seats on it lol. That way when you have company over it lloks like it belongs there and no one calls you weird for having that there.

I like it, all you should actually do is build some fan ducting connect it to your regular AC in the house and your set, maybe get some stuff in there so that it does not make that much noise out or in in other words noise canceling. Of course if your wife ever wanted to get rid of you she could lock you in and you would be done. All she have to say is he was multiboxing and must of died in there, I was out with the kids shopping lol.
