Some friends of mine merged accounts under their battlenet accounts which were not registered to the same name.

They did it a while ago and no ban. I din`t expect it to work. You would expect that different names wouldn`t get accepted automaticly.

Anyone else did it?

I have heard this is true, but never tested it.

Two of my friends did it and transfered characters between them. Trying to find anything on it in the rules.

Merged into 1 battle.net the day they released it for the mt. dew pet. No ban, no troubles, no delays.

I was under the impression that discussion of things that were against the terms of service were against the forum rules...and then an forum moderator participated. Now i'm not sure, however, if you have the information for the original account holder, the likelihood of being banned for trading is very low, unless of course one of the participating parties reneges on the agreement,

Wouldn't they then be in risk of account sharing violations, if they use the same battle.net account at the same time from different IP addresses?

I misread the OP when I replied.

Account sharing is against the ToS. Topic closed.
