Here's my problem. My playtime is limited to about half-an-hour per session and about two hours total per day with no set schedule. At the end of the day, I'd like to feel to have accomplished something significant that is also part of a long term progression.
The only video games where I've seen this level of pacing are in single player games, but those don't really have a persistent long term element to them. Can anyone think of something otherwise?

street fighter 4?
Diablo 3 sounds about right, but no eta yet.
i dunno. What kind of games do you like and how significant does the end goal have to be?

Definitely looking forwards to D3 and SC2. Not much into the versus fighters.
Also played Muramasa recently which took me out of the rut I had with MMOs.
The end goal is really not all that important, but I want a certain pacing and continuity. Good artistic presentation helps too.

Why not try Final Fantasy on the Playstation?
Number 7 and10 are particular memorable, even though 7 is starting to show its age a bit.
Or if you have an X-box you can download the oldschool Castlevania SOTN, it is really good value for money.
If you are looking for PC games, check out the Heroes of Might and Magic series it is turnbased strategy, very addictive.
Or if you are more into RTS pick up a copy of Red Alert 3 or the Warhammer RTS games.
Want to shoot something? Then the Orange Box is really unbeatable value for money.
