IS or ISBoxer Support for Aion

Now that they have disabled Game Guard and have an option to run multiple clients on a single machine, what will it take to get Aion working with IS or ISBoxer. I've gotten IS to launch the games as an ISBoxer Character Set, but IS doesn't seem to have any control over the position of the windows and does not list FPS like it does with WoW.

I'd be more than willing to help troubleshoot this, but I'll need some direction on what to try and or change since my experience doesn't really extend beyond ISBoxer.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ill get IS if it works for aion, i cant deal with clients running at 5 fps.

Inner Space does not currently work with Aion due to some incompatibility with Themida (a system they use to encrypt Aion). I am actively working on a solution, and expect to have Aion support available soon.

Thanks for the reply. I'd be interested in learning more about the nitty gritty parts of IS that ISBoxer hides. I was able to find the WindowHandle class for the main window, and tried updating that, but from what your saying that is just a small part of a bitter pie. Is the documentation with ISXDK better that whats on the site now? I'm kinda looking for info on when it hooks the DX window routines and how to shift windows around, etc.

In the end the only real functionality I want is what I can get from HKN right now. Launching two clients, moving their windows and broadcasting keys. Just prefer to not have to use HKN for that since I already converted to IS for Wow.

Aion works with InnerSpace. Both the launcher and/or the command line methods should work fine. If you're crashing after the launcher make sure your game is not set to full screen.

If you were going to use the command line you must go into the IS configuration and edit the game profile accordingly.

I can confirm that ISboxer works in Aion at least as of August but I haven't tried after the expansion. I never got the command line method to work but you can use the launcher just put a 30 second delay between times it lauches the windows or just click on the team name multiple times from the isboxer icon in the system tray to start any missing instances.


As a note you have to use the launcher not the .exe or it won't work just make sure you turn off the check for udate option in the launcher.. Also you will need to set the client to launch in a window'ed mode.

Thank you guys for your replies. Just to confirm, at this stage I am just wanting to get IS to launch my Aion.

Can confirm that game mode set to window. The path appears fine, as the game does launch, and for a moment the splash appears then it still dies.

I am not sure if this is helpful but it was all I could capture of the crash I think.

I didn't realize that the expansion had come out. I'm downloading the 2.0 client now and I'll patch it up and see if things are well. It'll take me awhile to download 13.2GB from this site so don't expect a reply until like early tomorrow.

InnerSpace still works fine for me with Aion using the command line parameters. Here is a cropped desktop screenshot of 2 instances of Aion running in an ISBoxer window layout. Kinda cool they have a random login screen each time you load it up.
