Well it’s official….my first multi-box team hit 80 on Saturday; too bad they didn’t all hit at the same time would have made a cool screenshot. We stayed AV exclusively from 73 – 80; future teams will never quest again once they hit 71. The ease of AV grinding along with some free token purple’s at the end of the virtual rainbow is too much to pass on.

While the girls ended up with (2) items each, we are sadly under geared. Personally I cannot wait for the changes coming in Cataclysm making all tanks crit immune through talents. It is totally un-balanced that a Druid can come directly from AV grind to heroics with around 25k hp and crit immune, but my Paladin now needs to work her arse off to achieve the same.

We did clear Pinnacle & Culling of Strat, but failed on Halls of Lightning. Ionar kicked our fanny as I was unable to figure out how to move my group out of the way from the disperse before the creepy lightning bugs zapped us.

Thanks for all the great info here; running the 5-box has added the “fun” factor back into the game that was missing.

stand each shaman in a different corner on ionar. tank in middle keep nature resist totem in middle so hits all 4 shaman. This way you only heal the 1 shaman the disperse goes after not all of them.

Congrats on your first team to 80!

I have never downed that boss in HoL. There are a lot here who have in heroic mode but I can't even down him in normal mode. :(

IMO, just head to normal mode ToC and farm the crap out of that place. Your team will be swimming in epics in a matter of hours

My Paladin is not Crit immune....can I do normal? She does have a "fair" HP pool 27k with group buffs...but Defense is low only 480 ish.

In answer to my own question the team stepped into ToC last night pretty much fresh 80's with a mix of quest blues and a couple of AV purples.

The mounted combat is not gear dependent …went smooth as could be expected for someone who has never attempted to box jousting before. Took down the 3-champions and promptly got wiped. The first try I got the Warrior, Hunter, and Rogue….I gave up after 4-attempts; the Hunter kept using disengage allowing the rogue to drop poison everywhere around my girls killing them while I ran around chasing after the Hunter.

Reset yielded Warrior, Hunter and Mage. We focused the hunter…then mage…and warrior; my shaman went down from that stinking hunter early on. Macro’d battle rez followed by an innervate allowed for an ugly win…a win never the less. Box reward gave my Pally some love with the defense leg drop.

The doors opened and in walked that bitch Paletress; after clearing up the trash she painted the walls of the coliseum with our blood. 80 gold repair bill (X) 5 later I called it a night.

Opinion…Depending on the champions a fresh team coming out of AV can get geared up in ToC even though the tank is not Crit Immune. My plan will be to simply farm the Champions until the team is better geared; I believe I can take down Eadric as his only trick is the hammer, and my priest can dispel it while he is casting…we will see, however, I think this is the faster route to get better geared rather then farming normal 80 instances.

Hope to soon start heroic’s

…..Eadric the pansy….

I just don’t get it – Fighting the champions with poison being tossed all over the place, a warrior charging and knocking the team from hell to breakfast, along with a mage who likes to sheep….only to face….Eadric the Panzy

This guy was a serious let down to me; after having my virtual butt handed to me by Paletress my girls dropped this overgrown Paladin without needing an innervate, no movement required…his hammer does nasty things; stupid Eadric kept targeting my Tank to hammer…

I was all ready to rotate my girls out of his Radiance; he caught me off guard with the first one…I was like, huh? Is that is? Simply hit the interact with target macro, and bam back in business.

We didn’t attempt the Black Knight; Coren Direbrew was a calling….Paladin now has both STA trinkets the resto Shaman got her stinking egg. My current plan is to run dailies along with (2 or 3) CoT resets through the second boss, & buy some BoE gear from the AH. The Paladin is looking much better gear wise; she tops 31k hp buffed, however, she still has very low defense. This weekend I will poke me head into a few of the simpler heroics…CoS and Drak to see how weak the girls are. I need to take some time out to farm gold and get professions going; none of the team currently has any professions and my bank account is under 1k. L

Hey let me give you some tips on ToC.

1. First fight if I do not like the combo I get IE Healer, Rogue, War etc just zone out make someone else the party leader and zone back in. This will reset the fight. Just start with one person inside and the herald will only announce one person shaving time off of the begining.

2. The confessor. I use grounding totemx3 for this fight and part of my /click sequence drops fresh grounders as soon as the timer is up. With the grounders eating up her nukes she is a breeze.

3. The memory she summons. I use a /cleartarget /assist <toon> /use Dark Jade Focusing Lens to recover my guys from the fear bomb.

4. Purge off the renew on the memory.

The Black Knight is a whole chapter onto himself there a bunch of threads here on how to beat him.
