Hey guys,
I just dinged 40 with my mage, assisted by my main 60 mage. We just did 30-40 in SM and that is just like exp heaven :D.
But anyways, where should i go now? I got a couple of quests in ZF. Planning on doing those first. But ZF is a s**t instance imo, so i prefer doing something else. I got a 70 epic warrior available, a 67 lock and a 60 frost AoE spec mage, to boost my box through the instances.
Anyone has a plan for me?
Thanks,

Quests.
I'm serious. "Boosting" (so that's what you kids call it these days?) starts to really lose its efficiency after SM due to mobs hitting your "booster" harder, mobs being spread out, and instances just not giving you as much xp.
Questing, on the other hand, really skyrockets between 40-60 due to the 2.3 changes. I literally flew through levels 45-60.

Try to get a 70 shaman, then rush through zf pulling any mob, until you reach the event area, then fire elemental out and bam bam everything is dead.... just hear about it from a friend, should be really cool for lvling...

This works really good with a Pally as well. My brother has a 70 Prot Pally he can pull the whole instance but remember there is a diminishing return on AOE's. We usually just pull the left side to Ghaz' and a separate pull for the main temple area.
Honestly though we were farming ZF for some drops for my druid and not so much for leveling purposes as questing to 60 is a breeze now adays.

You can get into BRD at 40...
I have been boosting a level 40 Lock in there XP is great but its slow as I can't kill that fast :'(

Well, time to grab my leveling guide then ^^ I think i will go AoE Pirates or something on lvl 43-47 since thats faster imo. I did 44-45 in 1.5 hours.
PS. Im not a kid >.>

get level 45 in sm than u can go to stratholme
but i think with an 60mage it is not effizient.
With the 70 warri -> pull the nonelite packs including 1-2 elite, cleave them away.
50k/h is possible but my 3shaman group got also 50k @ questing
Maybe u can get an 70 pala?
Prot would be the best.
pull 1-4, depends on gear of this packs and BAM Consecration, Retribution Aura and the best Holy Wrath :D

Hmm.. i only get like 150 experience per elite :(
I got an aoe mage level 70 i think i can burrow that mage. I can easely pull 3/4 packs with it. But i can AoE too with my alt so.. that gives me more experience :P

eh this mostly works. it can get out of hand very quickly though just due to quirks. Done this a few times for my warrior with my brother's shaman (and he has done it a few times as well) Its pretty fast but remember the cooldown for elementals :)

Instancing SUCKS for EXP.
If your just powerleveling one character nothing beats a hunter (aspect of pack for moving low level characters around).
Just do every kill quest you can find. After all its only one account that needs it. Hell you can level off of quest XP now for the most part. If done right you can do quests in all three faction areas to get exalted by 50 as well.
I never understood people and instances. I guess it comes from not knowing the game. The quest system, even more so since 2.3, is where the XP is at. Hell even pickup quests with three characters wasn't bad..
Still tearing an instance apart gives a hell of a lot xp, and up to at least 30 the quest xp isnt that good.

It all depends on how fast/good the boosting player is, if you do it yourself (with a 5 man group) and can do it fast then it can be worth it.
If your being boosted and the person your with takes forever then there is little point.
But always try and do the quests in one go if you can for lots of lovely xp :)

Absolutely agree with the above poster on boosting with kill quests using a hunter main.
My hunter is in t5 and I ran my lowbie priest through the stv hunting chains like a rocket. Doing the Hinterlands rampaging tonight...
Good idea on BRD - I'll try that one next. :D My main never did finish the UBRS key.
(Btw, leaving the pet on banzai mode in these lower areas sure helps with any surprise/stealthed mobs.)

You're not wrong here, Fur. If a Fire Elemental does 100% of the damage to a mob, no one gets any XP. However, I don't think it's necessary to "tag" the mob first, just some player-character has to do some damage to it before it dies. I suppose you could whip out a Fire Elemental and then lay down a couple magma totems on your alts and hope you get some hits on the group before it dies.
Instance powerleveling is very efficient in the RFC/WC/RFK/SM series of instances (not many people mention RFK, but with a mage I just arcane exploded my way through it with my newbies on /follow). L38 or so starts to get rough on XP in SM:Cathedral, though. I waited until L40 to stop instance grinding them, and I was reasonably happy with the time it took to go from L8/10 -> 40.
I may bring along a L70 main to help me with running through some instance quests, but I think I'm going to 2.3-quest-XP it from here to L58, when I'll move them to Outlands (for more questing...).
Nice part about instance running with a disenchanter is you can make up for some of the lost $$ by selling off shards. I set my main to master looter and only looted something that was tagged as having a green-blue item on it.

The above about pet-tagging is true; even if the pet gets first hit, as long as someone dmgs it they'll get exp for it. When I'm speed-farming mana motes in netherstorm I'll drop my treants on one mana wyrm, start attacking a 2nd, then insect swarm the one my treants are on and finish the 2nd off; loot rights to both corpses. If i don't IS, I can't loot the one my Treants killed, I'm sure exp is the same way.

You don't get the kill if only your totem does damage either
