I stumbled across this today and I just had to laugh.

http://www.petitiononline.com/multibox/petition.html

My personal favourite bits : "This is something that needs to be put to a stop, as it takes away the aspect of what battlegrounds are suppose to repsent - teamwork and a challenge".

You can't get much better teamwork than 4/5 characters coordinating on a target perfectly. And he's actually saying that trying to kill them is very difficult - if that's not challenging what is?

And this " I have heard many stories personally of 5v5 arena teams going against a multiboxing team and getting killed right away, which should indicate alone that multiboxing is unfair. "

I have heard personally - so basically they haven't experienced it themselves.

The final signoff is a classic.

"Doing these 4 things (2 really) can would improve the experience of pvp in World of Warcraft 100%, and would ensure that the BattleGrounds and Arena matches are what they were meant to be, and not a playground for people with money. "

A subscription based game shouldn't be a playground for people with money. Isn't that exactly what it is?

Anywhere here is the full text for those that can't access it.

It has come to our attention that many people known as multiboxers have been flooding the World of Warcraft BattleGround instances. This is something that needs to be put to a stop, as it takes away the aspect of what battlegrounds are suppose to repsent - teamwork and a challenge. For those who dont know, a multiboxer is a person who owns multiple WoW accounts and is logged into them all at once on different computers and has an outside program set to copy what one charcter does into multiple charcters. For instance a multiboxer with 4 shamans would just control 1 of those shaman and when they cast a spell, all 4 of his logged in charcters would cast that same spell at that same target. This makes for VERY unfair gameplay. Someone who could normally live through one blast of the spell, could not live through all 4 and would be seemlgly 1 shotted. This takes all the sport out of the battlegrounds and makes it very hard for us to enjoy them. Outside of any ranked battleground or arena match, multiboxing should be fine, but inside where its ranked it is way to unfair for people to have a chance to enjoy themselves. I have heard many stories personally of 5v5 arena teams going against a multiboxing team and getting killed right away, which should indicate alone that multiboxing is unfair.

The propsition:

- Multiboxing be banned from any BattleGround(Warsong gulch, Arathi Basin, Alteric Valley, Eye of the Storm)

- Multiboxing be banned from ranked arena matches(5v5, 3v3, 2v2)

- Multiboxing may be allowed in unranked arena matches(as above)

- Multiboxing may be allowed outside of those areas in the "Overworld"

- Punishment for being caught multiboxing in a ranked arena match or BattleGround would be something alone the lines of the accounts being banned permentaly from the BattleGround and Arena Systems.

Doing these 4 things (2 really) can would improve the experience of pvp in World of Warcraft 100%, and would ensure that the BattleGrounds and Arena matches are what they were meant to be, and not a playground for people with money.
Sincerely,

Siaea

Funny thing is Bliz frowns on petitions.

I stopped caring at:

"For those who dont know, a multiboxer is a person who owns multiple WoW accounts and is logged into them all at once on different computers and has an outside program set to copy what one charcter does into multiple charcters"

A perfect description... and wrong on so many levels.

He also needs to get an understanding of what "overworld" actually means these days in a WoW sense :p

We really shouldn't focus on the multiboxing hate, /report people and get over it. Posting here about it, just seems silly.

hehe. I get the feeling you didn't actually read the post.

As far as I'm aware I don't think you can /report someone to blizzard for something they didn't do in game or on their forums.

Although there has been a spate of Multibox hater threads so understand where you are coming from.

QQ. Its an outright shame that this poster's 'my dog can beat up your dog' twinking paradigm has been shattered by the prospect that a multiboxer could potentially send their toon to the spirit healer.

I see he's published an email address there.

He's very, very lucky that us multiboxers are such a mature group of people that we would never consider using that to, oh, I don't know... say... subscribe to illicit material!

Very lucky indeed.

whome are you calling mature ? I spend some evenings in the week playing a game pretending to be 5 cartoon figures at the same time and hunt dragons :)

I think the last few weeks have increased the multiboxing exposer in BGs due to many of us old timer MBs and the thousands of new multiboxers over the past year ( since we all stopped BGing after BC ) Because of AV and PLing our alts in there.

I have went months without a single hate whisper prior to leveling a few alts to 80 in AV. I got TONs of Love from alliance in AV for being the sole reason we won most games ( myself and Xenocas team ) But I have had a few Horde make lvl 1 alliance alts and spam hate at me. I used to ignore it, but the stuff they say to me would make Richard Prior blush. So i have reported a few lol

I've seen about 2 hate and about a million love posts in /bg chat since I started leveling my original main shammy. People love it that I go pop a bunker and cap it. Had a really good time this morning, had 2 druid healers following my entire group. Alliance were turtled at SPGY and we couldn't break through. We won by reinforcements, because I was obliterating them as they rezzed, and even when I was down to 2 shaman I couldn't be killed because of my pocket druids. It was pretty funny, and many /love tells ensued at the end.

That is so funny but we should seriously worry about this! They already have 8 signatures!!! ZOMG we are screwed!

Id love to try some AV when I (if i ever) get my new computer.. right now i lag a bit too much. If its a PVE situation I dont care because im not affecting other people. If its a PVP situation, and im sucking it up then i would feel bad for my teammates.

I dont think i would do anything smaller than AV because of having to have 5 people together all at the same time.

We will see though.

Considering doing something like 3 balance / 2 resto druids just for PVP.

Back on topic: While the petition = lawl, hubris is unwarranted. Blizz has supported MB in the past and theres no conceivable reason why theyd change that policy now. That stated... dont go asking for trouble =P

For the most part I've had a lot of praise in AV recently. A lot of times, I'll hear comments in /battleground of like, "About time Alliance finally sees a boxer." haha

I exp'd my mages in AV from 64-68, and I had a blast. Mages are a bit easier to take down (Especially when undergeared), but people seemed to love having me around, anyway. I'd hang out at the top of a tower, like IBT or TP, and when anyone came in to take it over, 5 Dragon Breaths and a bunch of Arcane Explosions, generally fixed the situation.

I've been grinding out BC rep on my main Shaman team lately (33 exalted reps!), and once I'm done with Heroic Dungeon BC rep, I'm going to work on the 70-80 run on my mages and my druids in AV.

Druids in AV sounds like a lot of fun, particularly stealth bunker recapping.

Did anyone else get hit with a power leveling ad when they clicked to see the signatures? I thought that was priceless.

There's really no reason to stealth with bunker recaptures when you have 5 druids. Just kill whatever you see.

It takes more than 5 sub 80 druids to take down my solo Pally. If he was 80, different story, but be realistic. Stealthing the bunkers is the smarter option.
