Tips for levelling in EQ2 2-boxing

Hello everybody !

I'm levelling some toons and I have some problems to find the good places to go to level fast.
I'm boxing 2 characters :
Conjuror 80 with T1 shard armor set.
Wizard 53 normal stuff.

I used to bash for the 5 to 50 and didn't take any quests. Now I'm trying the same in SS but bashing is not the best way to level fast since the 50 it's really slow.
Do you have any tips or zones to level fast ?
I assume that I need to quest and can't use the old EverQuest 1 method. But where should I go ? At 70 I will do Kylongs Plains-Fens-Kunzar it should be a piece of cake with a mentor. But before the 70 I don't have any ideas for the best way to level.

IMHO, DoF was a shocking expac for grinding - and - I have found things won't get better till your able to get into SoS/KoS (low 60s)

To overcome the '50s flat-spot' I shoot back and start doing all the grey quests - a simple path to follow will be:
- td (quests 10+)
- darklight (quests 10+)
- greater fay (quests 10+)
- bbm
- el
- feerrott
- steam
- ef
- ls

That will definately get you over the hump and pretty close to the 60s for returning to grinding in SoS - when you get bored of there, hit up the KoS instances for names and disco - then you should be getting pretty close to thinking about RoK

If you find yourself short still - the next best zones to grab a few levels (but via questing) are:
- less fay
- loping
- bone

IMHO, if I missed a zone in the above lists it's because I have either done them to death already or they just simply suck

Of course, if you missed a dungeon, go back and grab disco and any names if they have colour

So you're grinding the quest line even in grey ?
I definitely need to convert myself to quest then ...
You think I can hit the 60 only doing the quest line in the given zones ?
I'm 53 actually.
If it's the case, my conjuror in mentor is not necessary until SoS.

If you have over tips feel free to give.
I levelled my conjuror in a normal way and it took me more than 60 days of playing to hit the 80.
And I really don't want to waste my time getting this level.
Bashing was really easy for 5 to 30.

Doing all the grey quest reward AA also I think ?

Here is my tips for a fast levelling before 50 and with a 80 in mentor :

0-5 : isle, TD, Darklight ... no need of mentoring.
5-13 : mentoring and start from the bell in Antonica to the BlackBurrow entry. Kill everything you find. You can grab your 13 in less than the time you need to travel to BB entry.
14 - 22 : BB or Stormhold with a 80 it's a piece of cake !
22-28 : Thundering Steppes, I used to kill gnolls near the entrance to Antonica but every groups of 2 or 3 is good.
28-30 : Varsoon or giants in Antonica.
30-40 : Enchanted Lands-Runnyeye-Rivervale.
40-50 : Lavastorm-Everfrost-Permafrost

Only bashing, no quests at all.
That's what I'm doing, don't know if it's the best way, feel free to comment or add some usefull informations :)
As I want to level as fast as possible I'm looking for the best path to get the 80 in no-time. :cool:

So you're grinding the quest line even in grey ?
- yes, but only during the 50s as I truly believe there is a flat spot around the 50s before you get to SoS

- you will come pretty close
- make sure you do a lap of the zone dungeons to grab disco in passing for free aas


If it's the case, my conjuror in mentor is not necessary until SoS.
- not true
- get your 53 to be the lead with the 80 as your slave
- use the 53 to accept all quests and share each
- this way if the 80 has missed any, it can grab any aa it missed the first time through


Bashing was really easy for 5 to 30.
- it's actually grinding from 10ish to 52ish is really easy
- sounds like you missed a few choice dungeons


Doing all the grey quest reward AA also I think ?
- yes, but only if the quest is level 10 or above (unless it changed - been a while)


Here is my tips for a fast levelling before 50 and with a 80 in mentor :
0-5 : isle, TD, Darklight ... no need of mentoring.
- isle + td should get to you 13ish withouthaving to move - you can go back to finish off TD and DL in your 50s
- I like doing td as the quest rewards are pretty good for the level

- wc (can start at around 11ish), bb, sh, fg, cbk


28-30 : Varsoon or giants in Antonica.
- RoV sure, giants hell no


30-40 : Enchanted Lands-Runnyeye-Rivervale.
- only reason I go to rivervale is to finish a few hqs or complete the nightblook L&L


40-50 : Lavastorm-Everfrost-Permafrost
Only bashing, no quests at all.
- personally, I find perma to be a pain in the @ss with little going for it except maybe getting your giant L&L finished
