any chance you can get credit? Maybe Best Buy?
What's wrong with the PC? Have you considered just replacing whatever it is that's going bad? Why the need to get a whole new system?

Well lets say its a dual core lol laptop. I believe its time because my frames used to be pretty good in av at 20-30 fps all around even in combat but now im lucky to break 10 no matter where i go. I dont know if i can contribute to getting a monitor so i can see the screen better. Tho yea i can get credit i just need to find something better i mean the money wont be hard to get but it will take me about 2 months to get the money with paying bills to buy it outright. So just say my comps a dual core dell xps m1530. Like i said it used to be awesome and even with all the settings low get low fps even just playing one account.

I'm curious about why he thinks NewEgg doesn't finance, they offer two different options on their site.

i think that price is crazy, if you are comfortable building one, you can get a really great computer for less that that price.

The specs on the computer are nice... but if you are willing to spend that much you can build a pretty sweet machine.

Reinstall everything on the laptop and see if it makes a difference.
Blow the fans and cooling vents out, the XPS laptops have a known overheating problem with their video cards (I have had 3 at work need Motherboard replacements due to overheating.
Replace the hard drive, its just a sata hard drive, think of getting a fresh drive before reinstalling.

Yea ive blown them out at least once a month and have a tiny external fan that blows into the back of the vents to help aid in cooling i have no problems with overheating anymore but if you think a new hd would work then i might look into that first.

I cannot advise you to finance a computer ... it is not a very sound decision financially
the best thing to do is deal with what you have and sacrifice until you can "finance" it yourself...
decide what "payments you want to have each month ... then "PAY" yourself this amount each month until you have enough to pay CASH for the computer setup you desire ... then once you buy it start paying yourself again an amount so when your ready to upgrade you can pay cash again ...
Financing luxury tems is never a good thing EVER

Financing anything is hardly ever a sound financial decision. If you can fix your existing laptop than you are golden to save up for something better. Otherwise if you can only put away say $100 a month for a new computer it will be 20 months before you have the money to buy what you are looking at. You need to weigh the priorities.
Definitely do not finance from Best Buy if you go that route... man are they seedy. They offer you a Same as cash deal but if you are late by one second they not only raise the interest rate to like 28% but also apply if back to the beginning. To make it even harder the payments are on a 25 day schedule so it never the same time every month...

I would not recommend replacing anything if it still turns on and you have not wiped and reinstalled the OS yet. Its not like car with a worn out fan belt. You lost 2/3 of your frame rate. Its not a worn out chip of ram or video card that will do that.

What about power profiles? Is the OS doing something to throttle performance for energy savings when you don't need it to? There was an issue where high performance was selected but the OS did not actually use high performance.

When in doubt Format C:
At least your machine still boots, so you can get anything important/sentimental off your HDD.
A fresh install of everything should buy you two months until you have the cash in hand to buy your dream machine.
As to the price of the linked machine, i7-965, nuff said

UPS Guaranteed 3 Day Service -- $27.51
Grand Total:$1,952.38This is a similar system. Differences:
No Vista in that price (no biggie)
NVidia GTX 275OC instead of 4870X2 (better for most games, and wow isn't exactly going to take much advantage of 4870 rendering advances)
SATA SSD hard disk instead of crappy 7200rpm
Slight step down on CPU (why pay twice the price for extreme edition unless you wipe your ass with $100 bills?)
8GB RAM instead of 12GB; won't notice this for WoW multiboxing
Much better motherboard and RAM quality
Much better heatsink for OC'ing the CPU
Much better rated case for cooling and noise
IMO, I'd much rather manage where I cut corners than have some company do it for me.
