I have two PC's with 500 watt power supplies - one with a 8800GT and one with a 9600 GSO. I'm sure you can do a bit better, but 500 watts isn't too bad.

My main rig has a Antec Earthwatts 500W and it runs an i7 920 along with a Radeon 4870 1GB, no overclocking of course.
