it was probably deleted as it was talking about an exploit (albeit not one that affects gameplay much).
Talking about exploits is against the rules on this forum I believe.

hmm a cosmetic glitch is an exploit ? you'd have to get some kind of advantage for this to be an exploit no ?
(I filled a ticket to ask about it to GMs - let see what they say)

here is the email I got from my second ticket (the first one was closed with no reply beside "we'll investigate" (!))
--------------
Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department.
Petition: "You didn't answer my question about whether it was ok or not to use the "Gift of the Giants" outside of the Grizzly Hills quest - seems like a cosmetic glitch and want to know if it's ok (as it's fun but maybe could be considered bad?)
Please do not close the ticket again without answering"
Answer: I believe it should be cool to use as long as it isn't used to disrupt mailbox/portal usage.
Should you require further assistance, please submit another help request the next time you are online. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!
For any game play questions, please refer to our site at http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/
*** Please do not respond to this email as all conversations on this matter would be best handled online. ***
--------
Because I couldn't chat (never seem to be online when my ticket is finally serviced) I couldn't confirm that he understood I meant several stacks, etc... and in BGs maybe, etc...
But all in all this doesn't seem to be considered anywhere near an exploit at least by this GM - so maybe restore that thread ?

I'd have to see more information before I could call it just a cosmetic glitch. If it works like mobs, then a larger hit box also translates into a larger hit radius. In layman's terms: you can be hit from larger ranges, and you can hit from further ranges.
One example are larger melee mobs like Anub'arak that you can hit with melee weapons from apparently 10-15 yards away from their center because their hit box is very large, and likewise he does not need to stand on your head to get in range to hit you. The advantage to you obviously would be that its harder for someone to get out of range of your attacks when you get on top of them.
I can definitely see how using this buff outside of its intended area (especially PvP) could be considered an exploit.

A GM authorized it. Get over it and let it go.
hmmm - i read
"I couldn't confirm that he understood I meant several stacks, etc... and in BGs maybe, etc..."
I seem to remember some software touted as approved - but looking at the conversation it was clear that the GM wasn't given the full details.
I would urge caution to anyone who does use this in BG's.
Does look funny though.
