How long does it take to level 4 elemental shammy from level 1 - 70 if you multi-box them all and level via a combination of quests and pure grinding?
I figure it will be a big investment in time, but I want to really make sure I am up for it.
Also what professions do you suggest benefit shammy best considering only one of the chars will actually be training the profession. I guess the others will just be following around on the same key presses but the main char will get the skill up point.

Ok here it goes, my 2 cents:
lvlign 4 takes about 20% longer than lvl 1 but it depends totally on how you play, im on lvl 34 and im sitting on 2D 4H played that beign said i lvld my mage alone and he was lvl 35 and had 2D 12H but then again taht was befor 2.3
I reccon its fastest to lvl each caracter individualy from lvl 1-12 and then letem all meet upp in X-roads.
If you can get a friend to pwer lvl you from about 12-35 it wud take minimum time so then youd be about lvl 35 with 1D 5H played or so depending ont he class tats bosoting you (GET MAGE! XD)
My final conclution is that youl be roughly the same time with 1 toon to lvl 70 befor 2.3 than 4 toons to lvl 70 after 2.3 :)
jsut gogo lvl wtfpwnt! XD
---
As for the profesions get enchanting to 225 on all cuz then you can diss all the blue loot ingame and get abotu 1000 extra gold form all the quests in outlands (that you shut do at lvl 70 cuz that wud grant you about 3000g a toon wuch wut be 12k gold alinal and if you diss its a extra 4k bringign the total upp to 16k gold)
if youd boter i think letherworking wud be nice for gear but it wud cost 1-4k ea toon to lvl to 375 wit AH at your side
if you want more gold and less hassel to lvl upp go taloring then every 4 days you can make 8 spell/moon/sloul/ -cloth and get the mooncloth healign set if ya wana heal.
...i extend my sincerest apoleges fo the terrible spellign but asure you thers great wisdome in these senthensis abouve ;)

I just started 5 orc shammies on another server. Took me about 7 hours or so to get to level 12. I really despise collection quests.

For some reason... Leveling 4 is faster then 1. Im lvl 34 sitting on 1 day 13hours. Thats fast. But then again I have grind my ass off in SM.
It all depends on what you do really.

lvlign 4 takes about 20% longer than lvl 1 but it depends totally on how you play
90% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
I've been playing my shammies since august. I believe they had 14 days /played under their belt at 64. Could I have gone faster? Sure. But then I wouldn't be 300+ engi/jc/mining/skinning/herb/ench. I also would have /quit every time I went to the bathroom or got a snack or let the dogs out.
Am I unhappy taking longer? No. I would've had an aneurism trying to speed run 5 characters to 70.
Relax, enjoy the ride. You can't re-do levels 1-69.

Good call on enchanting for all. I was planning on just getting enchanting on one of my guys, but seeing as I don't plan on leveling profs for any of them a small investment into enchanting now could have big payoffs as you said.

I started 5 shammies about a week ago. Been playing long hours, usuallly watch movies while i grind (i use a 70 mage to power them through instances over and over 4 at a time).
So far they are all lvl 46 with about 5 days played. I pickup alot of loot and I know that slows me down alot. Just yesterday grinding them through ZF I made 700+ gold from the drops.

I did it in 7 days /played but it's about enjoying the run - don't burn yourself out or it won't be worth the ride :)

10 days for me with all five (no powerleveling).
It's not a bad grind really.

So far I'm at 4d12h to 38. Not very fast (some have gotten to 60 in that amount of time). However, I had no help from my main except to send them each 4 16-slot bags and 5g at the very beginning. That time also includes a fair amount of /afk time, doing some unnecessary instances for fun (took 3 hours to get to Ragefire Chasm at lvl 14 as alliance), and levelling all 10 tradeskills (most are currently around 200).

Someone really needs to come out with a revamped quest guide for multiboxers:)

I'm at L53 on average for my team of 4, going for full profs with all, 4 days 16 hrs so far. Still quicker than my best to 60 at this rate. Super duper power boosting to 40, then questing after. I just felt if I boosted them all the way I'd never get the practice or the feeling of boxing until I tried at 60+. I'm guessing at 6 days or so to 60, then 8 days to 70 (planning on instancing most of the way in order to save for swift flyers).

Thottbot or wowhead or whatever really need a classifer for:
-collection
-kill
-deliver
-escourt
-mixed
If they had this, I could do you a guide in a few hours, unfortunately, they don't. If I had the time I would really consider contributing to this, but the wife already hates me, need to cut back
