Has anyone else encountered a credit card problem with Blizzard recently?
I set 5 of my characters moving server last night... Went to confirm the payments and the final (5th) one was refused. I tried several times and each time it was refused and said try again in 24 hours.
So I tried again tonight and it's still being confused however having phoned my credit card supplier I've been informed the payment hasn't got to them and the merchant must be blocking it their end. I don't have the facility to telephone Blizzard due to their opening hours colliding with mine and waiting weeks for an email response is going to be upsetting to say the least.
So I guess the question is, is there a block in place on a "single" credit card for a large amount of transactions these days with blizzard?
If you can do it from another location, try that. Its not your card, its the IP address. I think blizzard/battlenet caps the amount of transactions from the same IP in X amount of time. I ran into this issue when trying to register my 5 toons' accounts. All I had to do was walk to another apartment building in my complex, 'borrow' an unsecured connection and it took.

I had similar problems about a year ago. My card company said they weren't getting payment requests, and Blizzard said the cards were declined by my provider. Of course they wouldn't talk to each other, and I ended up setting up a temporary checking account with a debit card to make my last 2 transactions. That was the only option I could get to work. Good Luck.

It could be interesting using a secondary ip, I seem to remember doing that once before many years ago... Hmm I've had the "do not try again today or we will lock your account for 3 days message"... Guess I'll try tomorrow.

Has happened to me a few times on the EU side. There has been an occasion where the bank has stopped in case of fraud but mostly it's Blizzards own internal anti-fraud measures that prevent payments going through. I've found after 3 payments in close succession then there is a high chance of getting a payment problem which phoning Blizz usually resolves. Doesn't happen with my regualr monthly payments, only when I want to do something in account management across multiple characters.
The 24 hour waiting period is pretty useless too, I've often tried again only to be told to wait another 24 hours. Giving them a call is the quickest way to sort it if you can find a moment.

Blizzard'll only accept the same CC for separate accounts 3 (in my case) or four times. Change to one battlenet account for all and the problem goes away.
It's a pain in the ass but a relatively minor one.

I forgot about the battle.net accounts, that might be a good solution.
I assume having multiple wow accounts on one battle.net account still allows u to play emm all at once.

Yes, absolutely.
One battlenet login name and then a choice of each merged wow account at the "splash" (I think that's the correct term) screen.
It means that I have to click account1, account2, account3, etc., on each client but the login is the same as classic accounts after that, i.e., password > authenticator > realm/character selection.

I had same problem when I setup my accounts a while ago. My solution was to wait until the morning and goto school and try 5th account. My buddy also ran across the same problem around a year ago. He gave me the information for the account and I set it up for him. Granted you want a good buddy if you are givng CC info to.
Best of luck.
edit: I think I got pissed when I ran into this problem and just kept resubmitting it. Which then lead to a bunch of temp $1 charges. So many that my CC actually shut the card down. I had to call in and listen to a person rattle off like 20 charges.

Thank you for the advice guys, I will merge them to a single battle.net account and try again tomorrow from a different ip - That way I've got the best shot I'm going to get. :)

Update:
I've merged my accounts into one battle.net account and tried from a different location (new ip) and I have had no joy.
I spent the whole of my lunch break redialling their billing support line to get "Our phone systems are congested and we are not accepting new people into the que".
/sigh
I've emailed them as well but I don't hold out hope for a fast response... :(

Damn, sorry to hear that. All I can suggest is either wait the 72hrs (working hours) for a reply from billing or buy some game copies/time card from amazon/play/interweb on next day delivery.

Looks like I'm going to be waiting, it's not game time I'm after it's confirming my character transfers to a new server. Which is really annoying as I have 4 over just waiting for my tank! :(
I have an battle.net account and in the 4th transfer I get an error that cc is not accepted...
Think that I must wait some time to make the 4th transfer, then

You have to call blizzard, i had the same problem a long time ago. they only except 3 transactions with the same card/week. Its fraud protection. It is how ever fixable with a phone call.
After i talked to blizzard i now can pay all 10 of my accounts the same day, with the same credit card.

Some credit card providers also start to block high risk transactions after 1-2 hits. Usually this means online gambling or porn, but apparently now it's also world of warcraft transactions. My bank of america card will automatically cancel itself after 1-2 wow transactions, then they call me the next day and explain to me how their fraud prevention system detected "unusual activitiy".

Just to add I've managed to get this resolved, I managed to pay somebody at work to continuously call the phone line for 3 hours until they got into the queue (huzzah!).
I'm just getting the time sorted atm to level as I'm needing to finish off a few things whilst gearing my main but hopefully I'll get them there soon :)

Transferred 5 chars yesterday, I have a shared bank account with the gf. I used my debit card with my name for the first 3 chars and the one with her name for the next 2 (same account information, just different card holder names). No prompts saying I couldn't do it
I think they go off of the card holders name.

Try paypal for the 5th (even if it's linked to the same cc)?

When i tried to pay for time on my fifth account today this error came up : Your billing information were not validated. Your bank might be requiring you to provide your CVV code for the payment process. (This code appears on the back of your credit card). Please do not try this process more than three times. If the problem persists, please contact our Account and Billing team.
Is this the error you guys get or does it mean my card is out of money?

That's a different error.
The error we received was more of a "payment rejected" with no explanation.
