View Full Version : [WoW] Getting stuck on Success

So on my main pc, when i log into wow either through keyclone or through the launcher i type in my username/pw and hit connect, and it takes about 15 seconds to ask for my authenticator code, once i put that in it goes to "Success" and just sits there, i've let it sit there for about 20 minutes and it wont actually connect to the server.

So i tried my laptop and it fires right up and logs in just fine, so i figure it's something on my pc, so i cleared the cache folder in wow, didn't work..
Uninstalled wow, and reinstalled, didn't work...
So i reformatted and reinstalled wow and keyclone only and still didn't work...
Does the same thing, gets stuck.

So i plug my laptop into my router too see if it's firewall settings or what, and the laptop still works, tested my other desktop and it's working too (had to load wow onto it)

So... I pull up command prompt and ping out and pull up wow and try to ping out and it wont ping when i have wow open, it's like soemthing is killing my connection. While wow is open i can't connect to a webpage, ping, nothing. I ran a trace route while wow was open and it didn't go anywhere.
Ran a trace route while it was closed and it made it to the internet...

So something is funky, and i dunno what the hell it could be so i need some help, what do you guys think?

I'm running Vista 64, all video card and sound card drivers are updated since the format.

Any help would be appriciated!
Thanks

Hate to say it, but I'd reload your OS. Something appears to be corrupted, but could be really tough to find out what. You could try doing a "repair" on your OS, backing up to a previous restore point (if you use them - I don't) or even reloading drivers for your network card (which is probably integrated into your MB). But all of that may not work and it will probably take longer to figure it out than it would to just reload Windows.

i did reformat my drive, reloaded back to square one, i'm reading on the wow forums and i'm not the only one that's having this problem as of late it seems, i'm thinking its gotta be something on bliz's end at this point. but i'll post here if i find a resolution

ugh, no help on the official forums, does bliz have a tech support over the phone?
