SO, i was 4xlocks in there, lvl77. The leader was lvl 63 and more than willing to invite me as extra DPS. I oblidged and singlehandedly pwned the trash, right to Lucifron. I rolled twice out of ten drops. (cores, and enchants, and fire essence stuff) i won an enchant and a core. The leader then asked me to only roll once. i was miffed, but i again said okay....We got to lucifron and ofcourse all the lvl 6x's died, and it was my locks + drood healer and the raid leader pally, finishing him off. We killed him, and i suggested that instead of him staring at the loot....he should rez a rezzer, and then loot. He ignored me and then I told him about the next fight and how magmadar goes into a frenzy, he booted me. I didnt retaliate by wiping the raid, i just pulled my three other toons from the group and i hearthed home.

They wiped twice on mag, and called it a night. We coulda went all the way :-(

how do you guys handle stuff like this? Do you roll 4x? do you just up'n leave? do you take it like a bitch and just roll once?

If I want to roll multiple times, I will make that clear beforehand. If they don't like that then they can do without me. If that sounds crappy to them, that is fine but either they need all my guys or they need none of them.

As wendalf mentioned, you should discuss this before loot drops. It's up to the raid leader to let you roll multiple times, just as it's up to you to join that particular raid. IMO you should be able to roll once for each toon since you're paying the repair bills of that toon.

Yeah that's the way it is unless you make it clear beforehand. If they don't like it they can find someone else and not waste my time. Unless I am just doing it for fun. I roll however many times I have guys for.

There have been times where I have only rolled twice for my 4 or 5 guys but that is usually if I feel I am being carried more than I am pulling my own weight or if its in a situation where we normally wouldnt have that many of a single class to begin with like 10 mans.

With boxing friends(the zerg) we usually either decide who gets something based on who it's the biggest upgrade for or everyone gets one roll. With non-boxing friends doing leveling 5-mans(I generally 3/4 box with one or two friends), I usually pass on all loot that one of my friends needs since it's it'll help them more, but I was told to roll on all of my chars when I do. In raids at 80 I roll on all chars that would normally roll. Usually I don't tell pugs that I'm boxing though. Only one person in my raiding guild brought something up and she was mostly ignored, although with the characters I was using at the time they wouldn't be rolling on the same item anyway(tank/dps 2-box). The only times I could see only rolling on one character is if only one of your characters needs it, if you're being carried and trying not to leech much, or if you're in a guild where you have a rule that mains get loot before alts in which case you'd only roll on your main.

yeah, in this case, he wanted the DPS, but was unwilling to pay for it. When he invites me but doesn't want me to roll for stuff, its like going into walmart and buying groceries and not wanting to dole out the cash for it.

I explained to the beginning what i was and how i operated, and even explained to him that i wouldnt be participating in 'readychecks' but i was most-def here. He just changed his mind halfway through.

Hardest thing I remember for my 5x group in MC were the packs of core hounds. It was kinda rough getting them all killed within 10-15s of each other. But one of the main reasons I box is so I don't have to put up with other people and their personality disorders.

They kicked you and you just meekly hearthed out!

You don't get forcibly hearthed out of raids, so, personally, I'd have taken the time to strip my 5 bare and follow the muppets around and interfere with their further progression... they'd asked for it, IMHO!

I roll for all my toons. They are all contributing and if they are not going to be able to roll then I leave. Multiboxing is my way of saying I dont have to play with others if I dont want to. Especially if they are not going to play nice :D

But our one roll per team method only works when there's multiple boxers. when its 20 solos and one boxer, it kinda sucks missing out on /roll attempts.

When I pug, I recently haven't been telling them im boxing, and in 25 pugs these days, its so hectic nobody notices.... (I just put each toon individually in LFG and whichever gets in, gets in)

In one pug of a naxx 25, i was 5 boxing a healer and 4 dps, and on the safety dance, 15 people died, so it was just me, and 6 others (I lost one due to /follow turning into /runstraight) They wre impressed from then on.

True, I have had good pug luck. It also helps that i have so many 80s to pug with, so if i get into a fail pug i dont have to wait a week (which I did last week, half of naxx was down, they were on gluth, so I joined, we made one attempt, nobody could kite right, we wiped, we disbanded... IMO you shouldn't get saved to pugs until a boss dies while you are in there. At least you dont get insta saved the moment u zone in.

Oh how I hate tuesdays.....

I can solo MC on my Paladin, but I 2 box it with my DK for extra DPS. Once my 5 man teams finished I suppose I'll 5 man it.

I can understand why they only want you to roll once. When I've 2 boxed 5 mans at 80 I only roll once.

I'm with Fur. If i can't go it alone, I don't do it.

The biggest thing is giving me a choice. If I go and choose to roll on just 1 toon thats my choice. Or if you made it clear that I only get to roll on one toon that's still my choice if I want to bring them or not. I can let you look for the other 3-4 dps just fine.
But if I bring them and you tell me I can roll on all and then change your mind then you just screwed yourself our relationship and will have to find more dps. It's all about the choice. You letting me make that choice on my own or you forcing the choice on me. I have long lists of ignored folks. I wish it was made simpler by an addon ingame but I keep pen and paper handy. My notebook is pretty large. Lol.

I have had the same issue as the OP. Especially when I was healing druid+holy for raids for 'guild alliances'. The best thing is when they ask you a day latter if you will heal for XYZ raid.

The classic 'can you bring your locks to MC for Garr, we don't have any warlocks' as well, that was a classic move.

If you're pulling your weight with all your toons and not handicapping your team then I'd say you got the right to roll with all toons. Like bliz says it's not the 1 person but the 4 toons that are playing. 4 toons, 4xdps, 4 rolls.. otherwise they're just stiffing you on loot
