I'm currently using a 1680 x 1050 22" as my main and a 17" CRT 1280x768 for my alts. I'd like to upgrade the CRT to a widescreen LCD, Newegg has many 1920 x 1080 monitors on sale for about equal the price of a 1680 x 1050 (they even have a 2048 x 1152 for 180)
I guess my question is... would it be better to go with 2 16:10 monitors or would a 16:9 and a 16:10 be ok? does anyone else have this set up?

Personal preference really. WoW and most of the multiboxing solutions can adjust to whatever resolution you want to run. Performance wise the only real impact is that more pixels = more work for your video card(s). If you're looking at one of the larger format monitors (the 2048x1152 may count), then be sure you look at what it takes to plug it in - i.e. 2560x1600 monitors often take 2x DVI ports to operate at max resultion.
Whatever looks best is really up to you. Personally I'd get two matching monitors for a cleaner look.

The 1920X1080 is the standard HDTV resolution. I suppose the only reason for those to exist for TV usage on your pc as well. There is no real difference with either resolution when gaming, mix and match as you please.
Remember every extra pixel that you display the game on has to be rendered by your video card. Make sure you have the video horsepower to do what you want with 2 monitors, regardless of resolution.
