Total noob to pally tanking - what about divine plea? Do you start with that or would you throw it in your rotation?

The way i play my MT is this.

As your running in cast divine plea. Cast Taunt(eh..mind blank) as thats the only time youll get too and its a decent threat start. (Double check youve got a seal on as well. Cant count the times ive run in and realised ive forgotten it.)
Smack it with avengers shield, hammer of righteousness, shield of the righteous, judgement (judge wisdom as a tank) and exorcism if viable. You want to build a nice big threat lead.

Then start into your 969 rotation assuming youve got a decent threat lead.
Dont really on 969 to give you enough aggro for the intial part of your pull if you have decent dps around you. Ie raid situation, trash packs.

99% of the dps I run with wont even wait and really there shouldnt be any need for them too.

Once your going into your 969 just keep an eye out for anything going amiss and keep an eye on omen to make sure that your still way ahead.
If you follow the stuff, in a raid situation on a normal boss I do around 7-9k tps. which is more than enough.

96969 cast sequence is created via cooldown timers for prot paladins. aka 9 sec CD and 6 sec CD by rotating these back and forth properly you can created max threat and defence.

Just started using this over the weekend and so far so good, though some mobs I find myself mana dry (i think the mobs are going down quicker as i get more gear).. It's kinda iffy to chain pull trash when DP is on CD and find myself popping potions at times just to go faster. I usually just go DP, AS, Cons.. then onto the rotation. Gives my tank a head start in threat. If DP and AS are both on CD.. then I just run up to the pack and Cons + HoR + auto attack and then start rotation. My tank rotation (1 button) is mapped to my dps rotation as well.

The 96969 posted there is not a click really.
Well it uses click, but purely for additional characters in the macro.

That is the macro I use on my pally. And I think super duper macro should be on everyone's list because it extends the 255 character limit and its very simple to use.

Even that this rotation is not the quickest TPS I suggest it since HoR is a ranged vs SoR a melee ability.

Whatever order you use, alternate the 6 and 9 sec abilities.
6 sec: ShoR > HotR
9 sec: HS > JoV > Cons

Honestly I see no reason why you'd prefer a click macro over a castsequence for a soixante-neuf rotation i;e. to split up your main castsequence into multiple ones. Obviously activating the trinkets and probably targets can be a benefit, but the actual rotation?

On a sidenote: i prefer to have consecration at the end of the rotation so i can open with it (instead of the popular avanger's shield which i save for whenever i either need to burst threat or when adds show up). For remote pulling i use taunt. My tps with opening taun/consecration is way higher than with avengers shield, definitely when there is more than 1 mob.

Even in icc raids is see many pallies pulling with avenger shield and struggling to keep their threat above the dps, whereas when they open with consecration i never really have to stop dps'ing or switch targets.

I like to put consecration down first thats why its the first spell in my 969. All I do is taunt then spam my 969 and it lays consecration down first.

one of the links talked about how mobs "walk through consencrate with nothing happening" and thus how it isn't a good opener as it was pre LK, but if the mob is standing in it, then all bets off their post imo. I guess don't just body agro pull and LOS with a concencrate on the ground unless mobs will stand in it long enough for it to tick.

the castsequence macro i had when i started using the paladin as my tank didn't work because i most likely made some error, so i made myself a click macro which then worked. probably should check back on the castsequence macro :-)
