Can anyone give me a good setup/recommendation for controlling 2+ accounts in EVE? Are you just using multiple keyboards and mice and jumping around from machine to machine to issue commands? EVE doesn't have much in the way of shortcuts and almost none pertaining to combat or fleet control so control is clumsy at best compared to the macro capability of WoW.

If you could just step me through a basic encounter mission that would give me someplace to start from. Do you just fleet up and use the main screen to pull your fleetmates around till you get to the encounter spot?

I hardware boxed 5 accounts in WoW at one time before moving over to Innerspace so I have lots of machines so that isn't an issue.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks

I've found that using drones is easiest for me at least, I Can set my alts to "follow" the main when doing missions and have their drones assist me, They also provide Remote Repair, Tracking links ect. I just warp the whole fleet as its easiest. I have not tried to run eve using multiple computers I run my 4 clients off of one on 2 screens.

Thanks for your reply. When you run multiple copies of EVE on the same computer, are you making copies of the game directory and then running each window from it's own version of the game?

Sorry its been a while works been crazy. I use Eve Launcher to do my windows and to use it I had to make copies of my folder for each window that I want it to control. Using multiple copies also helps keep my main with eye candy and alts with every at bare minimum.

I know this is an old thread, just have something to add. Curious about what the issues people are having are? I mean I'm not having any issues running two eve clients as once (not making any changes to the directory or anything, besides the fact i'm running two instances of it at once, everything is the EXACT same as it normally would be) and I'm just alt-tabbing back and forth between the two windows. No issues at all (besides the cost which can get annoying :P)

Sorry to necro such an old thread but how are you guys finding combat?

Like if you have 2+ fighters do you manually select a target for each client? Or is there a better/faster way to do with in ISBOXER or Keyclone?

I currently enjoy the micromanagement of my individual ships, its easier to have your alt ships weapons all grouped in certain aspects ie: long range, short range, etc.

That way when you do need to target something you can use the fleet window and broadcast target from your main/fleet command, and then select the fleet broadcast, select target and then just the proper weapon group , i usually target 2 to 3 different ships and use different weapon groups on each ship that way they go down faster, at my level 1 and 2 missions focus firing for me really isnt needed at the moment.

But then again, i myself am still trying to get use to it all.

Here's some really important advice for EVE:
