The other day I got a quest out of D.E.H.T.A to go get 15 lootcrazed ears.
I've got to do this X4, and I set off reducing the number of those pesky divers, hunters etc.
But I noticed a rather worrying trend.

A hell of a lot of these guys have only 1 ear, some none at all.

I'm not sure if it's inbreeding or if on the long winter nights in the boring tundra they play dangerous games resulting in maiming and random ear loss but it sure makes completing the quest a pain.

It does explain how I can kill their buddies within earshot and they don't come running though :)

Depends of the used spells. With melee you have to be carefull not to hit the ears off and with firespells well, you get the point :-)

It`s a weird game anyway. I remember doing a full quest run in The Stockades. You ended the run with a bag full of heads and hands. Pretty horrific this game :eek:

Rotting entrails smell pretty sweet after a day of wading through animal excrement in Nagrand.
(Isn't that to get cherries or some such - and the reward is a bunch of cherries for underwater breathing..... dang I thought they tasted funny)

I can understand the quests that ask for a "pristine" or "undamaged" animal part. But yeah, does the quest NPC really care that the ears are a bit mangled up? No? Then each kill should have two ears. :p

They really need to add a new profession to help with these body part loot quests. The Butcher! You can go around slaughtering animals and putting their parts up on the AH for people buy for quest turn ins.

Then again, on the other hand, I find it worrying that for those group quests where everybody has to loot a body part (like a head or something), everybody gets to loot a piece...... o.0 unless everyone is taking turns hacking up the head into five or more pieces and just taking chunks (which raises its own set of wtf), i dont know how the mob i was just fighting which only appeared to have one head suddenly had 5 to spare on death. =/

this is my reasoning behind not finding two ears per lootcrazed diver, poacher, etc.

if i come there and beat the crap out of a diver and find no ears, someone already beat me to it.

I forget what text-based MUD it was that I used to play ages ago (MUDs...very early MMO's when going online meant using a text client).

Anyways, I was of the rogue/thief archetype and could pickpocket. In this game, you could pickpocket *any* item that a mob would drop upon death...so yeah, when I needed the head or hand of a named mob I could sneak into their room and pickpocket it from them.

I thought "wow, I must be a good thief if I can steal your hand without you noticing..."

i remember doing some quests in elwynn forest and you have to collect murloc heads. how the hell does it not have a head?!
