Hey all, so I am trying this dualchoc multibox program and I cant seem to get it to do all the macros correctly. Im not sure if all programs for dual boxing work the same way but for this one you link the accounts together by in game wow chat. For example, I would send this message to my slave account in order to make it follow me.
/tell SLAVE #cmd /follow MASTER
Anyway, I am trying to 2 box a druid and rogue. Rogue as the master, Druid as the slave. ALL I am trying to do is have the druid follow me around, and throw HoT's on me and heal me as I fight. But the simple commands wont work, I dunno if there wrong, or if its dualchoc that doesnt work right?
This is my simple macro ...
/tell SLAVE #cmd /cast [target=MASTER] Healing Touch
And that should make my slave druid, cast a healing touch on my master...correct? Well, it doesnt work! HOWEVER, If I change the name of the target to my SLAVES name (The caster himself), it WILL work, and the druid will heal himself.
So why does that happen??? Why is it that if the target is himself, it will heal...but if the [target=????] someone else, it wont ???
Ahhh im loseing my mind!!!

that software sounds pretty fishy to me.
Other softwares don't send commands through the game, they just send the keys you press to each game. So if i press 1, it sends 1 to all my WoW windows. Then you just put macros onto your 1 key and shazam.

Utilizes in-game chat to control chars
lolwut? Who in their right mind would do this? Unless it was specifically designed to be able to control remote bots for distributed botting farmers. It's so inefficient and network-unfriendly it boggles the mind. Also, how would an external program read the chat window in WoW without data access, which is verboten?
Doesn't pass the smell test, IMO.
P.S. Yeah, I derailed the thread a bit. So sue me. Forum says "Not For Support," so I guess I win!

Well i think you should ask the author of that software for support, to my knowledge this community dont support that product.
Whisper cast i think was taken out of the game almost a year ago (not sure exactly) maybe even in wow classic. so its not very strange that it dont work. The product is probably old.
funny, the website that hosts this software, actually trys to link to our DB website.

aside from a missing hyphen, ofcourse.

Sorry Vincents, but as Tight says you're going to have to go back to the author for support there. We haven't seen any announcement of that software around here, so there'll be no support / experience.
I realise that's going to be difficult considering that they don't have a support forum of their own but there's a "contact" form linked from their home page. You should try that.
Or use one of more well-known, better supported packages of course :)

This is all whispercasting. From the "howto" video :
"dualchoc is only needed on the PC of the character you want to control"
It is not passing one key to multiple instances, it is responding 100% to whispercasting.
Also, response from VirusTotal :

Result: 5/41 (12.2%)
And we've talked about this here before apparently :

The author of dualchoc tried to post here, and as I recall, we never deleted his posts or anything. His software seemed VERY fishy and I never could get it to work. I'd be very leary of any software that tries to duplicate functionally the WoW dev's intentionally REMOVED. I posted a few replies and he never really came back.
So, for now, I'm not going to nuke any dualchoc threads (despite there being no official annoucement), But I'd label this stuff as a HUGE "Use at your own risk".

As others have said, Whispercast addons for pallies and other classes was removed from the game because they felt it was an automated action, this closely resembles that. No harm meant for the author but there are safer options to approach multiboxing.

Do some research here there are several very good solutions in the Software section of the forum.
