Additional problem with AV/join as group

So, the change where you're not automatically leader when you join as group in AV already sucks. That's fine if you don't have a noob/asshat raid leader that will put you in the same group. Another problem I've found is when they just pass you leader. I don't know if it's an addon or what, but my raid interface is screwy when I try to move my toons into the same group.

If I get leader fast enough and have an empty raid group (usually 8), I can just drag all my toons into an empty group and be done with it. The problem I've found is when the raid is full, and I am trying to move players to put me in the same group, it doesn't work. It's like the name will drag and drop, but stay on top of the other name in the same slot. Eventually, the name I dragged will revert back to his/her original group.

I've disabled all but Jamba and DBM and still get the same issue. When I whisper a raid leader, sometimes they tell me they can't either. Anyone have any idears? It's very annoying to have even one toon out of the group.

I just dont understand why it just cant auto slot your team in a "vacant" group slot when you join.
Makes me wonder if they have thought about this for their "rated bg" system in the next exp.

But yes, not being about to switch raid members in bg is a known issue.

But its get better......if the raid is full, but you get passed lead, you still cant move any players that arent on your server.
I have not been around long enough to know exaclty how it used to be....but they way it is now is just stupid. Party buffs should be raid wide in bgs.

I PvP'd exclusively with my 5 shaman in AV and you could switch players anywhere, and 99% of the time if you joined as group, your 'main' would be leader. I don't understand why they always have to eff up something that works.

Edit: At 70. This week is the first time I really started PvPing in AV at 80.

Open the RAID UI (hit the O key on the default config) - and pull out your toons individual frame. Literally drag them out with your mouse.

Organize them on your UI somewhere you like them. Once you do this, everytime you join a raid / BG, those individual toon frames will pop up where you put them.

that's right ... there's not much you can do about it. I've leveled in AV from 68 -> 79 (will hit 80 x5 tonight) and the only 2 options are :

1. accept the BG right away and hope you have time whisper the RL asking for leader or assist so you can move your toons to group 8 before a spot fills it (there's a good macro in another thread for this)

2. The BG invite stays up for 60 seconds before disappearing - wait until the last 5 seconds or so before accepting the invite. The idea being that the raid will fill up and it will slot you in group 8 automatically.

During peak times, option #2 is slightly better as the queues are pretty quick and the raid is more likely to fill up before you accept ... during off-peak hours, #1 will get you better results. Neither works well with any consistency.

I've googled and searched this site for such a macro and can't seem to find anything. I must just be in retard mode today. (This getting up at 5 and getting 3 kids to school while their mother is already at work is kicking my ass).

Seriously, Totems are nice in BGs, but the PvP trinket is all I really use.

PvP trinket is not 5 grounding totems............

Well, that definitely helps, I just made a macro with "/bg Raid leader, can you put blah blah" but I'll use that one to /whisper him, thanks.

What I was talking about looking for a macro, was when I did get leader, can I do something like:

Haha, I didn't think any Alliance boxers were still active on the 'chewer, I haven't seen Emesis or anyone in a while. Either way, I've just started after a month off and am leveling my original shammy 'main' in AV.

Yeah - either he's quit, or is solo-ing under another toon ... I think i'm the only alliance boxer on bonechewer now - wish I could move to another server with other boxers, but I have 5+ toons per account and it would cost me a fortune ....

If you see 5 shadow/disc priests @ 80 or 5 shammy's @ 72, that's me ... been spending all my time in AV the last while ...

don't think there's a macro to auto-move your toons to group 8 - but if you get leader and can get 1 toon in group 8 first, you usually have enough time to move the rest if you're not slow.

oh - and you'll need an addon for the macro to msg the raid leader - it's more than 255 chars
