Ive been solo boxing for some time now and I got a WL/Priest/DK/Paladin/Rogue to 80 and well geared.. But I rly dont want a rogue/melee dps in my team.. Ive nearly every class available to switch with the rogue (except a warrior/Dk) but I rly need some help :/

I just cant figure out the best class combinations.. (Its for PvE and PvP / focus on PvE more though)

What Ive got:

Paladin (Full retri/tank/heal gear) - Thinking about playing a holy paladin
DK (Full tank/dps gear) - Thinking about taking him as a tank
Priest (Full heal/dps gear) - Shadow I guess
Warlock - DPS ^^
+ X

For X I was thinking about an elemental shaman/balance druid/mage/or another warlock (prefering the first 2 cause of healing ability).. Theres no gear difference since they are all well geared..

What do you think works best/helps group the best? Maybe make the paladin tank and the priest heal?

Thank you for your help :)

In my experience priests are much easier to manage as healers in boxing groups and paladins are a bit easier to manage as tanks.

Paladin is the best tank bar none imo. JoL in most places bar heroics is enough to keep you up, and if you need juggle between seal of Light/Wisdom. Also, their ability to AoE tank without relying on Rage or runes is simply icing on the cake. (My main for Multi-Boxing and raiding is a T8.5 Pally Tank). Also, the Paladin has many utilities such as Sacred Shield and Hands you can use on your other toons which would involve a lot of macros if the Paladin was a Slave.

DK for DPS is insanely easy once you get used to positioning Melee. I run my DK as DW Frost using the following macro for DPS:

#showtooltip
/assist Akera (Pally)
/castsequence reset=10 IT,PS,BS,BS,Oblit,FS,Horn,Oblitx3,FSx3

Not exactly a copy paste as I'm at work but you get the idea. Reset=10 and not combat or target due to rune cooldowns. I also have howling blast on a separate keybind for when I see freezing fog procs. I ignore Killing Machine procs as they happen so often. They all get used of course, but usually by Frost Strike and not Howling Blast.

I've also tried the Death Coil spam Dual Wield build, but the rotation doesn't fit into a 255 char Macro and I don't like Macaroon. Frost also has the benefit that it doesn't have Gargoyle or Runeblade. As these cost 60 RP, if you use them and don't have enough RP for your next FS or DC in the castsequence macro, your rotation will stop. I use DW and not 2H simply because more attacks = more heals from JoL and frost is the best spec for a rotation macro (imo).

I'm sure others have more involved DPS rotations macro's, but this one is a simply fire and forget. Bind it to the same keys you use in your tank rotation and your away. My DK pulls 3k single target just by spamming this macro which is fine.

The priest as shadow is pretty simple, I've only just started boxing my Spriest, but so long as you have a [nochanneling] condition in your macro you wont clip mind flays. However, if you want a healer, the priest is the best option. I'm using a druid atm, but once it catches up to my priest I'll swap. Druid Hots are great to keep rolling on the MT, but priests are just easier. PoM bounces round your melee, CoH + Renew + JoL from the pally and your set.

Warlock I've never boxed past 30. And all I did was SB spam.

As for your X, everyone says Shammy's! Yet I've never tried one. I hate totems, and totem quests (if they still exist?). In saying that, I'd love to get my hands on Chain Heal. If you had a Druid in Boomkin, to get the most of it the DPS rotation macros are quite complex to make use of eclipse. I cant decide what to do with my Druid, but if I do Boomkin, it'll ignore eclipse procs which will cost me a lot of DPS.

But you need to ask "What do I plan to do with my team?" I can Solo MC, ZG, AQ20, Ony, Kara (if opera is nice to me) so dual boxing them just speeds things up for me, hence who cares if my boomkin looses 1k DPS due to ignoring eclipse.

Anyway, wall of txt!

I'm in a similar boat to you, currently running a mixed team with Unholy DK, Holy Pally, Shad Priest and Arcane Mage.

With ebon plaguebringer in effect on targets the dps jumps quite dramatically, and the addidtion of misery means less hit that I need to stack. I wouldn't think to swap the DK for the Pally tank because, like you, I just don't want the added stress of melee positioning.

At the same time, I'm absolutely hating the pally healing due to mana issues as well as the extreme lack of AOE heals. Before I got the pally to 80 I was healing with the priest, and 3 healing macroes covered every situation while never having to compromise healing ability to regen mana (S-fiend + 750/550 mp5).

I'm actually thinking of sparking my 4 shaman back up to join my pally or DK instead of continuing with this group as it sits, because it's just so much easier when any one of the dps can throw an aoe heal. For this reason I would suggest a shaman as your final position, for the totems + aoe/backup heals at need.

Thank you for your answers :)

Well I guess I am gonna try how the DK works as melee DPS and take a shaman as my 5th group member.. He could be an OT in extreme situations too which makes it very interesting for me.

I am gonna tell you how it worked out when I get my new PC (round 2-3 days :().
