New to multiboxing and am trying to get all set up..have a couple of quick questions!!

1. Do Keyclone and Octopus do the same thing? Or do they work in concert?
2. Using Keyclone the set up was pretty easy, but had issues when trying to log in. typing in acct name and password would sometimes omit letters or numbers on one client.
3. I made two separate folders (wow1;wow2) and copied my wow to the other and placed them in their folders to avoid the lag issue I was experiencing when attempting to use one client for my two accounts. But think this might have caused an issue? I also loaded Octopus to try to see which i preferred and set it up according the the information provided on the forum. But nothing seems to be happening when I go to launch. It connects to server host, but the clients are not launched as they are using Keyclone. HELP!! I have intermediate skills with computers and know I am missing a step of two. Thanks

:D

for question 2 if you have any keys in the do not pass list and they are in your password then... they dont type :)

also i would recommend setting it to remember your username it just makes it one step easier and is a little bit more secure that way.

now for the other questions ill let someone with more grace answer those as i might just make it more confusing.

1. I haven't used Octopus, but you shouldn't need both.

2. Like Bot said, if you have keys on your blacklist, you won't be able to type them to your slave from your main, including on the login screen. In Keyclone, you can set a key to toggle "Do-not-pass". Setup > Override Settings > Override Do-not-pass. Set that to something and turn it on and off when you need to. Also, make sure the key you assign doesn't type anything...I had mine set to numpad decimal and it would type a . in some password fields when I toggled my DNP, so I'd have to clear it before entering my password.

3. I think we'll need more information...exactly what issue are you getting from 2 wow folders? Just the one with Octopus? I don't think Octopus is maintained anymore, you could try posting about Octopus specifically in the Software forum, I'm sure there's a number of people with experience with it.

Also on #2 I found that keyclone sometimes sets up formation keymaps for you, so certain keys aren't accurate anymore. Take note.

that was a feature of the wizard. the wizard will set up your commands, do-not-pass, override settings, pip hotkeys, and maximizer while also tweaking the fps , in-game resolution, and region-based keymaps. i tried to have the wizard produce the most optimally performing setup, allowing for better performance of your active character.

i put in the region-based keymaps figuring most people wouldn't know how to set it up, and the ones that would could easily remove/tweak it if they wanted to.

as an fyi... by default...

F8 - F12 are your pip hot swap keys. you can change it by going to keyclone/setup/maximizer, selecting the region, and setting the pip hotkey. you can also remove the region based keymap by clearing the field right there.

PERIOD and COMMA are used for two formations... stack and diamond. as long as your wows have WASDQE for movement keys, it will work. if you remapped those movements, you'll need to tweak the keymaps.

i also added a mouse map so when you hit xbutton1 on your mouse, it will push COMMA, or form.diamond

hopefully you'll notice an improvement in overall system performance and maybe a bit more functionality

I think it's great Rob, don't get me wrong. All I had before was just changed the wasdqe on all my accounts, then when I updated at some point it had set up keymaps for me, and it took me a while to figure it out. Just wanted this user to take note of his keymaps.
