Okay folks, here's the deal.

My computer died a while back, it appears that it suffered a corrupted update to vista and wouldn't display anything. So I ended up doing a factory restore (it's a laptop, toshiba Satellite 200a to be precise) to get it back to it's original factory condition.

Since then she's been working beautifully with one small exception.

I can't play WoW.

I'm sure you can feel my pain right now, it's excruciating.

Basically everything displays beautifully except WoW. When I log in I can't see any of the buttons on my action bars or the icons contained therein.

I've done the following:

Reinstalled Vista
Installed service pack 1
Upgraded to toshiba's latest video drivers

Anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Stuart

Back up your WTF and Interface folder. Than delete both and see what happens. This will put you back to default. If all goes well than something is wonky with your configuration and you can restore your WTF and Interface folder and begin the troubleshooting. That is what I would do at least.

Try deleting (or just moving) your addons/cache/wtf folders and see if that fixes it, then add them back in one at a time to see if you can isolate what files got corrupted.

There's also a "New Multi-Boxers & Support" forum, note the description of this one is "General Discussion General Multiboxing Discussions (Not For Support (http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=14540))" ;)

Sorry about the request for support in teh wrong forum. My bad.

I actually just reinstalled WoW so there's no way that it could be an addon issue or similar because I haven't installed any.

Maybe if I cross my fingers a mod will move this to the correct forum for me and only slap me mildly hard upside the head. . . :-P

Support article about UI Corruption on Intel 965 Mobile Chipset. Not sure what graphics chipset your laptop has, but you may want to check that article out. It looks like a driver issue and you need to get the latest from Intel.

could also be a driver conflict with your video card as well. my laptop is from acer, but the drivers they post on their site are way out of date. i checked the nvidia website and found a more recently released driver that supported the card that i have and installed it. check the info on the drivers before you install them, the wrong one can cause more problems than what you're dealing with now.

That screenshot isn't the default interface, does your game still look like that even after you did your reinstall {was this a repair or a fully clean install?} If so, check the vista thread in the wow forums :

Actually that was the screenshot from a fresh install on a machine that had just had windows itself reinstalled so that was indeed the default interface. The problem obviously was that it wasn't appearing correctly.

In other news I downloaded the more up to date drivers from the blizzard link provided by kadaan and followed the directions on there, it worked and everything is now up and running at the full 15fps glory that it runs at. lol

Thanks folks, especially kadaan.
